this was a vast improvement over the chevette.. it went from shitvette to crapvalere....! the cobalt was better still..but still lacks refinement. jeez, its vega, chevette, Cavalier, cobalt... what next?? make up yer mind already chevy!

True the engine was not the best performer but it was designed for fuel economy. It got the job done though.

The J cars started out with only a 1.8 engine with a carburetor.That grew to a 2.0 and then a 2.2.By 1994 that 2.2 put out 120hp!
