For those downing Cory & Danny and worshipping Chuck, it is what it is. He was an addict who burned all his bridges. I'm glad he's gotten back on track, I saw him here in Vegas and he was really great. I also saw TDN with Cory & Danny and they blew my sis and I away. I just don't see how anyone with half a brain can say such nasty things about Cory and Danny when they obviously tried to keep it on track with Chuck for many years.
Pulllleeeez people.....Chuck sounds like CRAP here! Not saying he doesn't have a GREAT voice and was a m a j o r part of TDN. Unfortunately, he self destructed and and ruined one of the best vocal bands in history. Maybe Cory and Danny's loss but they now ARE TwoDN without him and donig GREAT!!! And Chcuk is eating his heart out. Live and learn brother!
I always loved Chuck and still do but Cory to me is the best of the three. He can sing the best blues ever and then can turn around and sing one almost as good as Chuck in his hey day. I too would love to see Chuck reunite with Cory and Danny. They would have massive crowds at every concert.
@skipper8257 I must respectfully disagree. IMO, Chuck Negron was, is and always will be TDN!! He had the best voice, with the best vocal range, and was also the best-looking member of the band! He is now in the process of recording a new album; I've heard a couple of the songs, and they're GREAT! Believe me, Cory "The Prick" Wells, and Danny "Unibrow" Hutton need Chuck a LOT more than he needs them, and they KNOW it, although they'll NEVER admit it!
@skipper8257 what was it that Cory did, was he the main reason Chuck is not w/ them, it seemed to me looking back at those preformances over the yrs Cory never like Chuck he acted on stage as if he was not even there, i would always see him kid around and smile at Danny but never even look at Chuck, am i imagining this?
The main reason Chuck is not with them is because he was a drug addict. The guys voice was amazing. I have seen his show in Vegas and is was great. He has lost a lot in the high note range but still sounds great. Cory and Danny have only gotten better. Get there last cd gig and then tell me they need Chuck. That doesn't mean I wouldn't want Chuck back with them but there new guy is pretty damn good.
I saw Chuck last year and he exceeded my expectations by 100%. He has NOT lost his voice you dumbfucks. He puts on one hell of a show and I'd reccomend seeing Chucks band over the other 2-dog night band.
I went to this concert to see the Grass Roots. Chucks band blew the Grass Roots away.
Why do you have to call people names. I have seen Chuck in Vegas and yes he still has a great voice but not as good as he once had. Grow up and argue with some intelligence. I just saw Cory and Danny and the band last month and they are doing just fine without Chuck. Drugs will do you in and I am really happy Chuck as overcome them and keeps performing. They are both great groups so lets just enjoy them.
That was kick-ass good. He seems to be one of those guys who has kept most of his voice together and added other things that he did not have (a bit of extra soul from hard living) when he was younger. That's a powerful combination !
Chuck doesn't need Three Dog Night anymore. 2 dog night would love to have him back. But I believe Chuck has a great band behind him now, and he makes his own rules now. So why rejoin those other 2 dogs who will probably still treat him like he's still a drug addict, and belittle him for shit that happened 30 years ago. And try to boss him around. Right now he gets to sing all of his 3gn hits and make his own rules. Chuck is Three Dog Night and everyone knows it! Go Chuck !!
@gravano2 First of all, You asked me "what happened so long ago? And I told you. Chuck Negron is not asking for any "empathy. sympathy or respect" from you. If you prefer the 2 dogs Cory and Danny, fine. Danny was, and probably still a stoner by the way. Also some people take longer to get their self clean. And believe me Chuck paid a heavy price for it. At least he is still with us and not in the graveyard. I support him.
@TOPOFFMAN You should watch some recent vids from those other "2". For one, try the orchestrated "Liar."
I was on Lorazepam for 4 years, and it fucked up my life. Now in recovery, I have little empathy, sympathy or respect for some guy like Negron who took 20 years to wake up. Kiss my ass Chuck.
@3Rubee First of all, You asked me "what happened so long ago? And I told you. Chuck Negron is not asking for any "empathy. sympathy or respect" from you. @TOPOFFMAN top...ok, you win. I was a major market DJ, and who cares! I remember (barely) meeting Chuck back in 1986 at the North Dakota State Fair. Yup...North Dakota baby. I think he was maybe 150 pounds. Even so, I emceed the show and he still sounding fucking great.
@3Rubee Thanks. BTW, I wasn't trying to win an argument or anything. . I was just responding in kind. But the main thing is, We Both love Three Dog Night. And I wish all Three Dogs would get back together, A world tour at least. B4 they start dying off.
@TOPOFFMAN You are talking rubbish. How the hell would you know how anyone will treat anyone. They are older and wiser now. You learn to forgive and forget. There is no need to break up what they have now. There is nothing wrong wiuth a few gigs together and separate. Both Chuck and danny and Cory would like it so they say, so what's wrong with that?
@realfoneguy I.m sure if the money was right, they might do some kind of a tour. I'm sure that Chuck knows, that a lot of the blame is on him, (his addictions). I'm sure if he could do it all again, he would have done things differently. So there would be no sense of getting on Chuck's case. But those old wounds run deep. But I admit, a reunion would sell out some venues.
@TOPOFFMAN Nobody is getting on Chuck's case. All that is water over the dam. The thing is Chuck is good and so is Danny and Cory, but it took the harmony of the three to make TDN. With the three of them together, it would be great Just for a few shows. As far as the payday, I would bet it would not matter as if they announced a reunion tour or just some shows together, the money would find them. Brad
@realfoneguy I know that I would go to see them if they did get back together. That just goes without saying. The original Three Dog Night. If it happens, they need to do it soon!
Chuck is a genuine nice guy who should be applauded for getting his life back on track ! He now helps other people and their families that are struggling with addiction. How many people can sing this well at almost 70? Hmm...
@3Rubee It's fair to say drugs overcame him , He has it together , they are now senior citizens , enjoy the good life they had . The sum of all 3 parts made them a great group
@gravano2 when you get to be 57...I hope you;ve made the money I have..I hope you will be well and fit, and love the Twin grand-daughters I've been blessed with 6 months ago..
@3Rubee Chuck was a heroin user, and he wasn't trying to "diss the band" He was an addict. I'm sure if he could go back in time and relive it, he would change it.
I understand Chuck went through some tuff s..., homeless, u name it and to rebound, i give my thumbs up for him. Chuck, i still enjoy hearing you sing , give it up to God for saving your soul...Keep up the good work!
Rapls, Danny and Cory have half the original band and two great substitutes that have been there a long time. They've also kept their voices in better shape. Cory does Chuck songs better than Chuck frequently. Pretty good here for Chuck for some of what I've seen, but this should be one Chuck shoots for his best on.
Dear rapid.. I kno this is negative karma to say this. But check out tdn clip from this past years Jerry Lewis telethon. Yikes!! Chuck would fare better to stay himself

He's a great performer also...brings a lot of energy and you can tell he's definitely enjoying himself.
The two guys that play the keyboards are excellent singers themselves...great harmonies between the 3.
Considering all the drug problems etc it is amazing he can still perform at this level. The soft high notes are tough for anyone with that pitch as they get older. I am just glad to see him back.
Chuck's vocals are too superb now. I don't feel that Cory or Danny could hold up to him in concert. It is bad enough that Danny and Cory have to lip sync to songs. Chuck does not do that. His vocals are superb and strong!
Chuck, you are the man! God bless you and stay in the game, brother! I met you on Pensacola Beach back in 2004 after your show. Thanks for letting me get a picture made with you.
Chuck please re-unite one more time with TDN !! Just for your Fans !!
