I dont care about his accent, it doesnt matter, he is great actor, I think acting its not just about your speech, its about feelings too, probably hes goal is also to wake up some emotions in you you can think about, I can feel he deeply loves what hes going, thats why my admiration for him is growing everytime I see some of his movie
The fact that he speaks English and Cantonese both fluenty makes him even sexier. He speaks very intelligently also. Daniel my love, U are way too hot!!!!
I could care less if Daniel Wu is American or Chinese or whatnot. The fact that he was properly educated in a good university in America and that he speaks with a great sense of intellectuality prove himself to be way better than most of those so called "idols" from HK such as high school drop out scumbag Edison Chen.
I remember how I was watching a movie where he played as one of the four main bad guys. I don't remember what's it called, but it's the one with Jacky Chan. Anyway, one of the best parts was when he spoke in English because he was definitely more fluent in it than the times when he spoke in Cantonese.
If you notice, in a lot of his films they make fun of his inability to speak Cantonese properly as part of the plot - if you remember in Love Undercover she makes him speak with a cork in his mouth, and in Gen X Cops he says he was schooled in Canada so he has a funny accent. In Drink, Drank, Drunk he is meant to be French.
Nothing to be surprised of. I speak perfect english, perfect cantonese, and perfect Mandarin, no accent what so ever. My mother tongue is Mandarin, I lived in HK for 9 years, lived in the US for 5 years for college and work. Daniel Wu on the other hand, speaks mandarin with a bit of western accent, but I'm proud of his success in Martial Arts, and in the movie industry.
I just checked on wikipedia, and it says he was born and raised in California. There's absolutely no way he could have an accent. Why is it so hard to believe that it IS possible for a Chinese person to be able to speak English PERFECTLY AND still be able to speak their "mother tongue"?
he is just soo damn cute fkfkfk

What do you mean he has a bit of a cantonese accent? His grasp of the language is native level, and I don't really sense any cantonese accent.
