Hmm I don't recall hearing or seeing my seatbelt reminder light or chime...Concept??? Its the same car with a huge ass wing. Now the 2011 is out looks like we went back in time with it , come on Honda we want a turbo awd possibly defiantly a unique look.
The civic really isn't "small" when you look at it's predecessors. And I bugs me every time I see a Fit and think, "Honda, what have you done to the Si!?"
i know what you mean. i own a civic si and every once in a while i start thinking what a funky looking car it is. when i see the new fits i wish honda woulda put the k20 in that rather than the civic. on that note, the new crz should have come with a k20 too.
@funkdoobeh Agreed. I own an SI as well. Love the thing to death( except when my buddy gets me off the line with his flippin' TC, but what can I say, Honda was dumb enough to give me 200HP and a measly 135 ft/lbs of torque...WTF?).
@SilentBob008 you mean replace an entire transmission? Sure you can do that for a whole lot of extra money. I guess there is no other solution. Wait, you could buy the Si.
I find comfort in the fact that you like the sedan more than the coupe. I had been waiting for the four door for about 12 years at the time i signed for mine. First brand new car and what could be better - economy (light footed - si after all) luxury = (si has special super grippy ultra comfy seats/materials.) performance - (rwd is way to go for racing but if a 2.0, 200 hp fwd w/a factory lsd is up your alley you really can't score better that a civic si at this point in the game.)
Recommended - unless you are NASCAR this ride will give you all the power/performance/looks/shudders/sighs etc that you have been craving...and for the excellent gas mileage this engine provides for the superior performance (read the reviews and then test drive one for yourself - no other explanation nec.)....GL All =]
Similar specs esp if you race autocross...i have found 4 doors to be wonderous and the exect reason i waited until last year to grab an SI specifically since this is the first 4 door version of a badass under twenty k ride.
I bought my first Honda in March - 08 Civic DX-G. The reason why it was my first and not my second or third is because the other generations were all death-traps. The engine may last, but you probably wouldn't after an accident so it's good to see Honda has finally addressed the death-trap issues. People who brag about owning the older Honda's know not what they are saying. You are endangering your families' lives.
you can have this car if you have as long as you have a job. look man i'm only a general labourer making 10 bucks/hour but i managed to get this car i know i'm not making enough money but if you want something you have to work hard for it
...yeah, but get rid of the worthless shit in your life...like cell phones & internet shit. Cut back on blowing money on non-essentials like eating out or going to the movies every weekend. Even then, it's better to save your money for a down payment on a condo than buying a car and the insurance & fuel that goes with it.
Seriously the Si Sedan is the best bang for your buck...you cant beat the gas mileage/performance you get wit this vehicle. And four doors OMFG when I have kids...yeah if you are 16 and need a rad ride go for the coupe but at age 30 I am all about the four door. and with 197 HP, 6 speed, LSD and autocross I cant go wrong. This car has way too much power at high RPMs. Unless you can handle it...=]
I still don't understand the VTEC thing...I own a '08 honda civic dx-g. What's this VTEC thing you're all talking about? Is it like some kinda nitrous boost like thingy? I haven't felt any vtec thing at all.
It stands for variable valve timing n lift electronic control. Basically what vtec does is change your whole cam profile, so when your in low rpm u save gas n get good fuel economy but when u floor it it changes into a performance car n can hear the change in the sound of your car. But since u have a DX which is made for fuel economy u wont feel much of anyboost since your cars VTEC is made to get good fuel economy.
It's the name of the engine for Honda cars, and also the predecessor of the well balanced i-VTEC engine. If I'm not mistaken all Honda cars now use the i-VTEC engine, in my country at least.
So if you drive the Civic, the engine in front of you when you drive is the i-VTEC, that's all and enjoy :).
this is civic 2012 Really???
i think this car design for civic 1012

i believe the coupe has slightly better acceleration because it's slightly lighter.

yes the coupe is like 50lbs lighter and it has an avantage on start. but thats about it! I still go for sedan, more practical on insurance! =p

Negligible really. It's about 20 kilos lighter... So if you're fat, it makes up the difference! :P

you've got the economy version, SOHC iVTEC
if you want the awesome power version, DOHC iVTEC is the one you want (that comes with the Si trims)
its not like nitrous, just squeezes out as much power as the 2.0L engine can do
the rest is mechanical explanations, found at wiki, or wherever else
i have an 08 lx, so i feel your pain man. wish i had an si..
