I can only hazard the guess some chief exec somewhere thought " everyone will think we stole the idea from Ghost " or " people will always conect it with Ghost " even though it was first. Then there's the old "copyright/royalties" thing. I.E. a one off payment for original TV release using "Unchained" and "Georgia", but put on DVD meant " we want more money" for them.
Thanks for this, it's one of my faveroute scenes. Could you put some clips up of the last season, if at all possible. Thanks either way though. I wish i was around for when it was actually on telly.
I'm glad you are enjoying the video. I need to explain about the music during the dance scene. The original music was "Unchained Melody" , from when Al goes into the house till when Beth goes to the record player. Then Beth puts on "Georgia on my mind". I don't know why NBC changed it.
@DragonShutterbug It was a case of either, not being able to secure the rights for the DVD/syndication release; or as is often the case, the perpetuity rights were too expensive. This happens with a lot of shows, particularly when they get released on DVD; they end up having to change some songs they can't secure - for legal or financial reasons.
@DragonShutterbug This is really sad also (considering the reasons explained below). It's such a big change (for the worse)... They could have used Music Box Dancer by Frank Mills or something right away :( (I know, it would have been anachronistic... ;)
They should bring this show back! All the new stuff they could do with it would be amazing!

OMG are you serious!! They took out "Georgia"!?!?! That is horrible. It's just not the same without it
The same thing with the music when Sam notices the picture of Al...it supposed to be "Someday We'll Be Together". Geeezz the hell?!?

I will always love Beth and Al Calavicci. ♥ ♥ ♥
I always told myself if I was Beth, I would wait for the love of my life, no matter what it took. ♥
I had originally wished to cut my hair like Beth's when I was 16-years-old, but no-one would let me, so I've never cut my hair in my life.
Bless you for uploading this! ♥ ♥ ♥

Thanks for all the comments. I know that copyrights screw things up. But somethings should be sacred.

Great episode all the way through ending with this, I remember watching it on TV.
Is the music edited in all regions DVD releases? I've been thinking of getting them but *hate* when they've changed from their original format.

@UrgentementeUK
Region 2 isn't edited except one of the seasons. I think only 4 or 5 was edited for region 2.

The real songs are put in the eps on Netflix. I agree these songs are atrocious!
