I think the message behind the words is that several of the men who were at the bar quite fancied the woman, and had spotted that she was tipsy, so therefore, would be an easy lay. However, one man, a decent man saw the woman as a human being, a person, someone's daughter, sister, mother maybe. He got to know the person hiding behind the false front, courted her in the old-fashioned way, they married and lived a good life. Just sayin'.

My opinion, Dennis Locorrrier's unique voice and talent is second to none, and that includes Elvis and Sinatra. Please spend some time listening to him on YouTube, and you will see what I am saying. I'm not talking about charisma or his stage presence or name recognition. But his beautiful voice and delivery. Dennis never misses a word or a note. Perfection.
