I highly recommend renting a cab and exploring, try not to be the typical tourist and stay at the resortm -- cheers!

We were thinking of hiring a car to explore. We won't be staying the whole time in resort, that would be a waste of holiday really.

Good idea. I have been three times and have rented a car from st lucian national rental. The roads are a bit scary, but it made the trip that much more memorable. I stayed on the west coast ( marigot bay) and drove south to Soufriere (CRAZY ROADS - winding,mountainous,narrow). I also drove across the island to east coast and down to Mamiku gardens. There is a place on east coast called Fox Grove Inn,excellent lunch. The east coast is also a sight to behold Atlantic is powerful,scary! HAVE FUN

Absolutely wonderful. It was certainly worth the eight hour flight. It rained on one or two days but the rest of the time was sunny. Now I know why the Brits like going there: it can rain as well as be sunny, even in the dry season. lol.

its not bad rainy season is little drizzles on and off on some days theres rarely a big shower that lasts all day
