1. Yes, heating irons and such kill the protein in your hair. This mix will put the protein back into your hair.
2. I usually leave it in for 2-4 hours.
3. I do this every other week.
4. The general mix is pretty cold, so just blow dry it until it doesn't feel so cold on your head. It generally doesn't cook as long as you have a layer of plastic and a bandanna over it.
heyyy thank you for saving my hair i only used this once and my hair is not falling out as much and it doesnt tangle as much this treatment is really good i loved it and btw cutting your hair to make it healthy is a must i learned the hard way thank you so much =)
what did you do to damage your hair? is this good for treating chemically damaged hair? or is it just for overall health/maintaining hair? my hair is falling out right now from dyeing and bleaching it too much
I damaged my hair from chemical relaxers. This treatment helps slowly repair any type of hair damage and then helps to maintain the overall health. You should do this every other week
Yes, too much protein will cause your hair to become stiff and then it will start breaking. Try this treatment every other week, that's the perfect amount of protein :-)
thanks anyways i have very long hair but i think i have 1or 2 inches of split ends and as you can see it's not much so i though that there is some kind of treatment to lose them instead of cutting them however i will definitely try this it might help
I don't want to disappoint you, but the only thing that removes split ends is cutting them off. However, this mixture can help prevent split ends and fight them.
hey do you think i can just use only mayonnaise and get the same results without mixing in the egg yolks and olive oil....because really, that is what mayonnaise is made of anyways (eggs and olive oil)...so it's kinda redundant. what do you think?
Good question! I initially thought the same thing, until I tried it with just plain mayo. It makes your hair feel HORRIBLE. But when you put in the egg yolks and olive (or coconut) oil, it becomes creamy and really nourishes the hair while replenishing it. Hope that answered it :-)
@windada thanks for your quick reply...i will take your word for it, since I have never tried this...I guess I will have to just go buy some eggs..lol..i was trying to avoid going to the grocery store at all cost, but no way around it i guess...thanks again and be blessed :)
@Japanminute lol, that's exactly what everyone of my guy friends says when they see this video X-D The ingredients in mayo are proven to help damaged hair. A lot of girls that bleach their hair blond tend to do this so their hair doesn't look like a fried crack whore, lol!
Mayo is delicious on everythiiiing. Don't hate ;-)
Hi Amira... I've been slacking on taking care of my hair, but I need to start back.... Your hair looks very healthy and soft!... I'm trying to be serious about my regimens now b/c I want to see growth before the summer! :-) I was wondering how often do you use the mayonnaise treatment?... And since you mentioned something about a coconut treatment, how often do you switch up and do that? (I'm hoping you have a video on it-havent looked yet- Thanks!
I'm glad you're working to start your hair journey ^_^
I have been doing the mayo treatments with the coconut oil and the olive oil and I realize that the coconut oil in the mixture makes the hair noticeably softer.
I usually do this treatment right before I know I'll be using heat tools to style my hair or whenever I feel like my hair needs a boost in strength.
This Is a really good Video. I'm A hair stylist and This mixture Will do exactly what any deep conditioner we sell Would Do. - adding protein and Good fat/moisture to the hair-. It is the protein that can make the hair feel brittle, but just add More oil to keep that From happening.
Helo i just want to ask how long do yo have to heat up the olive oil i noe in the video it says but im in my cell phone so i can watch it so please hope u help thxs :)
I guess this treatment works differently with everyone because I've never heard of this treatment making the hair little stiff. Oh well your hair looks really nice.
lol, don't worry, you're not being racist at all. Good question, as far as I know, it helps repair any damaged hair. The only side affect is that the mayo tends to make the hair a little stiff, so make sure you add plenty of olive or coconut oil and deep condition for a long time afterward. This creates an "ultimate repair package" for overly processed/damaged hair. Hope this helps :-)
I like to leave mine in for about 5 hours or longer, but I would say anywhere from 2-6 hours. The oil does slide down, but olive oil and coconut oil aren't pore-clogging oils. That's why they are in so many beauty lotions and such. My skin is really sensitive and gets acne really easily, but this treatment has never ever given me any skin problems. :-) Hope this helps
how often should i do this? like once a week? once every 2 weeks? once a month O_O? lol but thanx for this tutorial! i'm getting my hair trimmed next weekend [hopefully, my ends are BAD!] and i'll definately try this before i straighten it!
If I'm in a routine of flat ironing, I do this treatment once every other week. I switch it off with an olive oil/ coconut oil treatment. So you get a moisture & protein balance. :-)
You don't NEED to heat up the oil, but it helps. What you could do is when you mix everything up and put it in your hair and put a shower cap on over it, blowdry your head with the shower cap on to heat everything up until it's warm. That should do the trick :-)
Did you rollerset your hair or use hot rollers or something? Just wondering, because it turned out really good. Maybe you could do a tutorial on that.
Thank you :-) In my Summer Hair Goal video, I show the rollers I use. There's no heat at all so it's good for your hair :-) Basically, I found some rollers with pipe cleaner-like Velcro on the inside and I took it out. At night, I roll my hair all over using just the roller with no velcro and in the morning it looks like how it did in the video. Hope that helps ^_^
No, I'm serious. My stylist recommended it to me. Just plain mayo didn't do much, but when I did the whole mixture it actually did repair my hair. I wouldn't post something unless it truly worked for me and has worked for many others too.
No, It does work. I love how my hair feels after I do the treatment. Thanks windada, I used to only use mayo but now I add the egg and olive oil. How often do you do the treatments??
OMG you look like a light skinned version of my god sister!!!
funny, so i'm watching this and my lil bro was in the room and he thought i was tryna learn how to cook and he got confused when you started putting the stuff in your hair lmao he's a silly boy.
any who, i reckon i'm going to try this, it looks interesting, good vid, and you crack me up!
have you cut your hair when it was damage? or did you just put your cream on your damage hair?

Sadly, you have to cut split ends, but you can repair some of the hair using this mix. :-)
