This is some awesome news. I'm 16 and live in Puerto Rico the second island in the Caribbean next to Jamaica that smokes the most weed. I do drink and smoke ciggs on occasions but I still prefer my friend maryjane. It isn't like anything else, it doesn't make you stupid, incompetent or rude like nicotine or alcohol dose and it definitely doesn't cause addiction. Let me tell you, marijuana has probably helped me reverse becoming a alcoholic, just like on my dads side. him included. I've seen the destruction alcohol cause around me and loves ones. Not once from smoking a little bud. It sucks since I'm about to start a new job, and not sure about the drug testing so its been about 3 or so months with no bud.

I used to smoke cigarettes but i felt like they were harming my body. people say that weed makes you do bad in school but it doesn't, as long as you think it's helpful for you do it. don't do it just because everyone thinks it's cool to get high, i did it because it helped me with my life.

But that's probably because I started smoking cigarettes before weed. If I'm at a party and someone offers me weed, fuck drinking I'm gonna pack a cone and spark it up. I only drink when I cant get on anyway, which is rare because that would mean both of my dealers don't have any weed. Stay green :)

@rohailab Sounds like me, except when my school suspended me for being high one time, my grades went down to Bs and Cs because i couldn't make up the work. It wasn't the weed that dropped my grades, but the education system -.-
@rohailab I am a huge fan of cannabis, and I have nothing against it BUT this is not entirely true. There are plenty of people who let weed get in the way of their lives and mess with their school, work and relationships. This is due to more than one reason, though, mostly it is because of the negative stigma connected to it and it creates problems BECAUSE of the negative stigma, either people getting arrested and having it on their record. Fuck I'm ranting and not making sense anymore. Sorry.

i been smokin since 14, being that im 18 now and a firefighter in new jersey i cant smoke anymore due to drugs tests=[ that just brought me back to using tobacco and alcohol excessively and they just need to legalize marijuana for all so teens like me wouldnt use harmful drugs like tobacco and alcohol and just smoke weed.

Around here, It's a lot easier to get weed than it is to get anything else. I know maybe 2 people to get alcohol from, and probably 20 to get weed from. And I don't smoke cigarettes, so I don't know how easily it is to get them.
@uogf While I don't personally agree with @CPeebs88 I didn't smoke weed until I was out of my parents home. Partly because I was afraid of the ass beaten I would get and the other part is just respect. Your parent are liable for you until you are 18. You should base your thought process on that. Keep your parents safe.
Personally, if you feel that you can make the choice and live with the repercussions then I think you can smoke at any age.

That's a really interesting point, I wish I could time travel back to the 70s and smoke with some of those kids. It would have been pretty wild. I remember taking those studies as well, and while some people took them seriously, not sure that everyone did.

Now I'm seventeen but last year I was addicted to adderall and somas. I was lost in my addiction but I didn't even realize how bad it was. When i couldn't get pills i started trying hard drugs and things got even worse. Thankfully I started smoking weed everyday instead of using those harmful drugs and it's saved me in every way...I don't even drink anymore. I believe more teens are benefiting from marijuana in the way I have.
this one time a group of us (teens) went to my house with a bong, a gram, and an excellent music playlist. for an undisclosed reason, one of my friends took a few shots because he couldnt smoke that day but we didnt want him to feel left out. he soon became unstable, laughing a lot then throwing things around my house violently. these mood swings went on for a short while until he insisted that he take a bong hit or two. we were feeling pretty inebriated so we didn't care. soon after a couple-
(the only reason i say that it could cause that to happen is because I had no fear of mental addiction due to so many people saying it couldn't be addictive, and consequently fell into deep mental addiction.)

headed in school, and am back on track as an A and B student. Now, I'm not saying what is true for me is true for everyone, but I would definitely argue that for the average kid, smoking weed is going to lower their grades, and If I didnt smoke at all, I bet my grades would be even better, but cmon I cant go 2 and a half more years without something that I love so much. Also, I do know that the mental addiction thing is not universal, but quite common, atleast among those who I've talked to.

I've always been a straight A student, but last term I would hang out with friends and smoke after school, and got 2 c's, some bs, and a d. To say weed isnt addicting or wont affect your school work is simply misleading. I know for a fact that weed can be mentally addicting. Ive been strongly mentally addicted to weed, not even being able to sleep without it, and I know lots of kids who will admit to mental addiction. Also, it definetly effects grades.
I was 17 yrs old in 1975 and Alcapulco Gold was the holy grail back then. I haven't tried the new current versions, but I hope it still has that sweet caramel taste I remember. I will be finding out first chance I get.

Marijuana is addicting, just not physically. If I don't smoke before I go to bed I can't sleep whatsoever. Many people deal with that and it's called psychological addiction.
I'm clinically depressed and i used to not eat because i thought i was to large, but because i smoke marijuana i am more social, more happy, I'm excited to go see my friends instead of avoiding everyone, i also eat regularly now. I'll be Goddamned if some mother fucker is going to tell me I can't smoke marijuana so I'm able to live life to the fullest.
That is interesting, because in my highschool 06 we did some hardcore insane drugs. Glad to hear that people are sticking more with pot than other shit, I know way to many kids who aren't breathing now because they were either drinking and driving or oding on oxy. Weed has kept me clean off of hard drugs for almost 4 years now.
I smoke marijuana and I have a gpa of 3.8 and taking college level classes. The image of marijuana users as being dumb is just stupid. Those people who are not doing so well in class will continue to not do well in school regardless if they use marijuana or not.
I´ve been smoking cigarettes for 2 years straight now and i have been feeling bad about it. I´m aware of the effects of the nicotine and all the other stuff that cigarettes are providing your body with and i´m trying to stop smoking. I´ts hard, but i feel better everyday, just with the idea of stopping. Still - smoking is a culture under Youngsters and it will probably be for the next time.

Been smoking Cigarettes since I was 13, im 22 now...and I feel the heavy toll its taking effect on my lungs and body everyday, I regret that first one. I smoked weed almost the same amount of years but on and off and the heaviest Iv smoked everyday for the past 3 years and now I havnt smoked marijuana for over a month for Im tryin to get a new job and I can say this not once have I had withdrawls or urges, but I can not go a day without a cig. Its maddening and I hate it, Cannabis saved my life.

im in high school and there is definately a ton a ton of drinking not a ton of cigarette smoking, especially in california. and there is a lot of consumption of marijuana but i would say a lot more drinking than weed. i personally smoke weed but dont drink, but for a lot of people its the other way round

beer sales are down because they steal it. people on probation go for pills and alcohol. a lot of people smoke cigarettes not as much that smoke weed most of the people at my school do. during exams everyone is all over aderall. every once in a while it's acid or x. beer pong almost everyday. i wonder if it's just my school this fucked up.
im 16, and on friday we had our school searched by dogs for marijuana, because they think people deal out of the school, lol pretty much a joke...no one was caught, i was searched and of course nothing was found, keep in mind atleast 80% if the kids at my school smoke and the dealers are like celebs and are looked up too lol weed is great it helps me sleeps and im a B+ student, the only other meds i take is ADD which is adderall but i only take it wen i have a test.

Im a teen i have to say toking is very popular in my school. People that smoke cigs are looked down upon. And drinking is popular but not as much as weed.
Im still in high school, its my senior year :) my freshman and sophomore year I was in the beginning stages of smoking weed, but I smoked cigarettes all the time and drinking basically every weekend. My junior and senior year, I have not smoked anything but pot. I dont even roll with rillos anymore. I keep it all clean, and I feel really good :) haha definitely support the switch, its life changing.

Keep your parents safe.
Personally, if you feel that you can make the choice and live with the repercussions then I think you can smoke at any age.

That's a really interesting point, I wish I could time travel back to the 70s and smoke with some of those kids. It would have been pretty wild. I remember taking those studies as well, and while some people took them seriously, not sure that everyone did.

Now I'm seventeen but last year I was addicted to adderall and somas. I was lost in my addiction but I didn't even realize how bad it was. When i couldn't get pills i started trying hard drugs and things got even worse. Thankfully I started smoking weed everyday instead of using those harmful drugs and it's saved me in every way...I don't even drink anymore. I believe more teens are benefiting from marijuana in the way I have.

headed in school, and am back on track as an A and B student. Now, I'm not saying what is true for me is true for everyone, but I would definitely argue that for the average kid, smoking weed is going to lower their grades, and If I didnt smoke at all, I bet my grades would be even better, but cmon I cant go 2 and a half more years without something that I love so much. Also, I do know that the mental addiction thing is not universal, but quite common, atleast among those who I've talked to.

I've always been a straight A student, but last term I would hang out with friends and smoke after school, and got 2 c's, some bs, and a d. Not that this was 100 percent weeds fault as I could have been more responsible with it, but it is definetly an large obstacle to overcome as a student. Now, My parents let me smoke but I choose to do it about 3-4 times a week. My tolerance stays low and I feel more clear..

I love weed..like alot. I used to smoke everyday and now ive cut it back to about 3 or 4 times a week, but only becasue i love it so much. To say weed isnt addicting or wont affect your school work is simply misleading. I know for a fact that weed can be mentally addicting. Ive been strongly mentally addicted to weed, not even being able to sleep without it, and I know lots of kids who will admit to mental addiction. Also, it definetly effects grades.

That is interesting, because in my highschool 06 we did some hardcore insane drugs. Glad to hear that people are sticking more with pot than other shit, I know way to many kids who aren't breathing now because they were either drinking and driving or oding on oxy. I´ve been smoking cigarettes for 2 years straight now and i have been feeling bad about it. I´m aware of the effects of the nicotine and all the other stuff that cigarettes are providing your body with and i´m trying to stop smoking. I´ts hard, but i feel better everyday, just with the idea of stopping. Still - smoking is a culture under Youngsters and it will probably be for the next time.

Been smoking Cigarettes since I was 13, im 22 now...and I feel the heavy toll its taking effect on my lungs and body everyday, I regret that first one. I smoked weed almost the same amount of years but on and off and the heaviest Iv smoked everyday for the past 3 years and now I havnt smoked marijuana for over a month for Im tryin to get a new job and I can say this not once have I had withdrawls or urges, but I can not go a day without a cig. Its maddening and I hate it, Cannabis saved my life.

im in high school and there is definately a ton a ton of drinking not a ton of cigarette smoking, especially in california. and there is a lot of consumption of marijuana but i would say a lot more drinking than weed. i personally smoke weed but dont drink, but for a lot of people its the other way round

im 16, and on friday we had our school searched by dogs for marijuana, because they think people deal out of the school, lol pretty much a joke...no one was caught, i was searched and of course nothing was found, keep in mind atleast 80% if the kids at my school smoke and the dealers are like celebs and are looked up too lol weed is great it helps me sleeps and im a B+ student, the only other meds i take is ADD which is adderall but i only take it wen i have a test.

Im still in high school, its my senior year :) my freshman and sophomore year I was in the beginning stages of smoking weed, but I smoked cigarettes all the time and drinking basically every weekend. My junior and senior year, I have not smoked anything but pot. I dont even roll with rillos anymore. I keep it all clean, and I feel really good :) haha definitely support the switch, its life changing.
