He was just happy because he learned how that sword works. ;) By the way, that sword reminds me a bit of Sikanda, the magic sword from "Die Unendliche Geschichte", the novel written by Michael Ende (and better known as "The Never Ending Story"). Sikanda also could destroy another usual weapon. :)
