  • Rich, rhythmic, sexy - not shouting out, Inner depth - love this Woman - Powerful! Multidimensional - her band, weak for her - or wrong combo of musicians to back her up... speed it up a little? and better keyboard - maybe broader - She takes care of all though!

    Wow

  • R I P Etta James...

  • Wow,

  • I wish that was me u were singing about. u would really put me on the map!

  • Pure class and like she means every single word.

  • A beautiful black woman! Very competent! Great singer!

  • Uma linda negra! Muito competente! Ótima cantora!

  • when Etta sings it, it just comes out. Everyone else sings it. Ya feel me?

  • @D84D I FEEL YOU..

  • yeah i went to see her at Aotea Square in Aucks many years ago, and loved it. great singer.

  • Good, decent version...but NOT better than the ORIGINAL EMPRESS OF SOUL....ETTA JAMES!

  • Weird. I grew up on the East Coast (Connecticut) and as much as Soul Music was a part of my life....I've never heard of her! She seems to be an American but not very well known here. I wonder why that is...

  • Ruby sings it better...ouch

  • @GlasgowNikko SHE IS NOT AN AMERICAN....

  • @patklipp What's that got to do with the price of tinsel? I never said she was.

  • Simply amazing!

  • The instrument dosent much with song

  • @meazi01 your comment doesn't

  • @meazi01 This song requires a very special bass line, that is what makes the song.

  • What year is this footage from?

  • @g0ttsche It is from 1990

  • Soulful yep that's Ruby love this song, I was just sitting here thinking

  • Etta James + Doctor John 'I'd Rather Go Blind' 1987

    The best

  • Who is the drummer in this video - looks like the guy from Frankie Goes To Hollywood

  • I saw ruby turner in 1988 in shrewsbury when she opened The Buttermarket, I was only 16 and when she sang this ,it blew me away and she also introduced me to this wonderful music, the best version in my opinion of hers is on Women Hold Up Half The Sky, the version on her greatest hits album isnt as good, and doesnt do her justice, Ruby is fantastic, and would love to sometime see her again, ive seen her twice in shrewsbury. Im a fan still 20 years onj

  • thanks for posting. used to listen to this endlessly on my walkman back in the 80s. still fantastic as ever.

  • saw ruby sing this song at Warwick University last week the 19 june 2010 and she just gets better with age, fantastic lady

  • One of Britain's most under rated R&B singers, I have had the pleasure of seeing Ruby live and she is brilliant!!! This song is the business!

  • damn good and wonderfull performance. its a shame that she hadnt the succes she derserves!
