  • @Tequn9q On the contrary, I found the documentary to be well-executed, thorough, and detailed, as it shows living conditions in the monastery. Prior to watching this documentary, it was a complete mystery how meditators live in places like this. And why shouldn't it be important for a lone foreigner, a female one at that, to know what she's getting herself into?

I agree with @lisamann; dhamma is in everyday activity.

  • The dharma is in everyday activities, such as eating, waiting in line, reading books... This info points to practice in a way that is not always appreciated. _/\_

  • That is what the world really needs: a lot of celibate monks and nuns. That will solve the problem of overpopulation.

But somebody has to produce the food.

  • hahaha... yes the narration is funny.

It doesnt really sound like it comes from the heart. And the info doesnt really point towards the practice. It's more like a guide for site seeing. I'm not going to a temple based on when gets the food first, or what kinds of books or living quarters there are there. The teacher and how'n'why they are taught is most important for me.

    Good initiative anyways :D

  • This is the worst narrated video ever, but I watched the whole thing and I love it! Watch it for the good info or the funny narration...this thing is gold.
