I don't understand all these people saying that wolves have more humanity than us. Wolves will kill pups, within their pack, that don't belong to the alpha and the parents are either exiled or slaughtered too. If another wolf from another territory comes near another wolf's pack they will fight til their bones turn to dust. Do we humans kill people for walking near our house? no we don't, so just STFU
Bison are still being slaughtered in Yellowstone despite the fact that they're supposed to be protected there. Shark finning is still going on completely unchecked, as are rattlesnake roundups. I guess bison sharks, and snakes aren't "beautiful" or "special" enough to be saved. Everybody only seems to care about the "cute and beautiful" animals.

What A dishonourable way to hunt, it is such an insult to the wolves spirit killing it that way the proper way is always to first give thanks to it for what it is giving the hunter and to hunt on the ground. This is just cowardly and the hunters probably didn't even use the entire animal.

And wolves arn't hese animals that get along with eachother, there are often fights for territory, prey, etc.... There is only a certain nmber of wolves that can be hunted a year. If a person hunts more than they are alowed, they will be fined and if this continues, then they get jailtime.

I grew up on a sheep ranch. It was not rare to have 50 sheep killed in a single night by dogs or by coyotes. They kill for sport. They would bite the animals, sometimes not even killing them, and leave them for dead, go on to the next sheep. The field would look like a battle field the next morning. I have read that on occasion wolves do the same thing, which would make sense, since they are dogs, and dogs are descended from wolves, therefore have the same instincts.
You have READ that they do that. Don't believe everything that you read. If that were the case, then I can't even begin to number how many books claim wolves are innocent animals as well. Such as the book this was based on, Never Cry Wolf, by Farley Mowat. Which is a true recolection of events from a man who spent over a year in the company of wolves and never once experienced or saw one of these 'savage' moments.
I have read that in livestock publications, accounts written by eyewitness observers, ranches surrounding Yellowstone. I believe it because I have witnessed other canines exhibiting the same bahavior. The information is easily available if you seek it. On the other hand, some people will not believe something no matter how much evidence one presents because their opinion is based on faith, not fact. In that case, talk is pointless. Are you one of those people?
One other comment: Never Cry Wolf was written by a biologist observing wolves in a natural environment, not in an environment provided by man. Therefore, their behavior will differ from wolves in a human altered environment. I doubt wolves inside Yellowstone kill for sport since it approximates a natural environment. But they do outside of Yellowstone. Do you honestly believe the ranchers would have any reason to lie? Why would they?
Somehow I find it hard to believe that wolves behaviors would vary so much unless provoked to. Did you ever perhaps think that maybe ranchers gave these wolves reason to be this way? In Yellowstone they are in an environment with no men, as you said. So therefore the men are the main factor in their behavioral changes. So, obviously, they had something to do with it hm?
Is that what you believe (i.e. faith) or do you know that from personal experience? My PERSONAL experience says otherwise. If you like I can provide pictures of sheep slaughtered by coyotes. Bison are still being slaughtered in Yellowstone despite the fact that they're supposed to be protected there. Shark finning is still going on completely unchecked, as are rattlesnake roundups. I guess bison sharks, and snakes aren't "beautiful" or "special" enough to be saved. Everybody only seems to care about the "cute and beautiful" animals.

What A dishonourable way to hunt, it is such an insult to the wolves spirit killing it that way the proper way is always to first give thanks to it for what it is giving the hunter and to hunt on the ground. This is just cowardly and the hunters probably didn't even use the entire animal.

I love wolves and I do disagree with wolf hunting, but wolves arn't these peaceful animals, there have been wolf attacks on humans but not that often they do try to stay away from people. And wolves arn't hese animals that get along with eachother, there are often fights for territory, prey, etc.... But they also arn't the only animals getting hunted down, there are other animals getting slaughtered and I haven't sseen anyone making a deal out of that. I'm not saying that no one cares BTW

Wolves are in no danger of extinction, as species, they are on the same level of endangerment as humans, "Least Concern".

Huntig regulations prevent it.
There is only a certain nmber of wolves that can be hunted a year. If a person hunts more than they are alowed, they will be fined and if this continues, then they get jailtime.
Regulated hunin is nothing to worry about, wolves are astrong species and will not be extinct or endangered anytime soon.

Anyone could see a "pet wolf" in yellowstone. Heck, you did. And thats ok, leave them in yellowstone. No wolf has a right to come out of there and kill livestock, dogs, horses, etc, and....you don't know crap, (I been to yellowstone....give me a break)

See the thing is, No one cares about the little guy. And you are the little guy in this situation. The state gets money from tourism of people wanting to see a wolf more so than a bunch of cows and sheep on ranches.
More money than the redneck likes of you make in a year.

Wrong again. People went to YNP before the wolf reintroduction. Always have. Oh, the wolves are not gonna go away, I know that. But because of people like you, alot are gonna get shot. I am hoping I can do it legally in another year. Heck, shoot a wolf, save the lives of 50 elk....much less how many cattle, sheep, etc? Imiginary? Yea, right. 500 cattle lost last year in Wyoming alone.

Yes, I have tried to find this movie at several video stores and it is no longer available. The star is Charles Martin Smith and it was made in 1983. Love this movie, "Never Cry Wolf". Interesting enough, its a Disney movie and Smith shows his bare butt in it.

anybody who can watch this and saythat there was posibly a reason for killing these wolves is stupid. wolves are not brutal animals unless provoked by humans, which in many cases they are. if a wolf attacks a man, or any of mans possesions, it is because of mans interference and in many cases negative effect on the wolves environment or life. a wolf does not cause any toruble on its own, it simply does so if it has a reason. i hope to god that a wolf hunter is killed by one of these wolves.

I grew up on a sheep ranch. It was not rare to have 50 sheep killed in a single night by dogs or by coyotes. They kill for sport. They would bite the animals, sometimes not even killing them, and leave them for dead, go on to the next sheep. The field would look like a battle field the next morning. I have read that on occasion wolves do the same thing, which would make sense, since they are dogs, and dogs are descended from wolves, therefore have the same instincts.

You have READ that they do that. Don't believe everything that you read. If that were the case, then I can't even begin to number how many books claim wolves are innocent animals as well. Such as the book this was based on, Never Cry Wolf, by Farley Mowat. Which is a true recolection of events from a man who spent over a year in the company of wolves and never once experienced or saw one of these 'savage' moments.

I have read that in livestock publications, accounts written by eyewitness observers, ranches surrounding Yellowstone. I believe it because I have witnessed other canines exhibiting the same bahavior. The information is easily available if you seek it. On the other hand, some people will not believe something no matter how much evidence one presents because their opinion is based on faith, not fact. In that case, talk is pointless. Are you one of those people?

One other comment: Never Cry Wolf was written by a biologist observing wolves in a natural environment, not in an environment provided by man. Therefore, their behavior will differ from wolves in a human altered environment. I doubt wolves inside Yellowstone kill for sport since it approximates a natural environment. But they do outside of Yellowstone. Do you honestly believe the ranchers would have any reason to lie? Why would they?

Somehow I find it hard to believe that wolves behaviors would vary so much unless provoked to. Did you ever perhaps think that maybe ranchers gave these wolves reason to be this way? In Yellowstone they are in an environment with no men, as you said. So therefore the men are the main factor in their behavioral changes. So, obviously, they had something to do with it hm?

Is that what you believe (i.e. faith) or do you know that from personal experience? My PERSONAL experience says otherwise. If you like I can provide pictures of sheep slaughtered by coyotes. But, you probably would not believe it even then. You are one of those people who believes in "I think it's so, there for it must be so." Got blinders on. Wake up and look at reality, for goodness sake.
