It took Britain and Russia and America to take on the Axis Alliance, And none of them could have done it alone. The war was fought all over the world- Europe,Africa,Mid-east,Asia,Pa­cific,etc there was many fronts. And overall the Soviets,British played the main roles, And the U.S with there Industry.

And the U.S forces arrived 1942, When the British had the Axis forces on the run in the west and the Soviets in the East. You dont seem to realise the British-Soviet war efforts. And without the British there would have been NO-VICTORY and without the U.S forces Britain-Soviets would have won anyway..THINK1

Not too mention conscription the likes of WWI would have been implemented.

The war in the West would have taken slightly longer but the war against Japan would have gone on far longer!

Brits did have access to atomic bomb blueprints and there is no doubt that British & empire forces would have tested it in Australia (which they did in 1952) and dropped it from a Lancaster it was the only plane that could have used it!.

Britain won the war in Africa,Mid-East but operation like D-Day would be impossible due to logistics alone. An invasion of Italy would only be possible but Europe would have fallen to Stalin. Without the European Axis powers, Britain-Soviets together could easy wipe out the Japs in Asia and starve Japan of vital resources,food they would go into Famine and would have to surrender.

What's more the landing on Omaha may have gone better just for the simple use of X craft as makers.. amongst many other factors (Hobart's Funnies).

Britain after D-Day would need serious man power.. but that is open to debate & hindsight as to a what if with compulsory conscription...

If there is a a factor of US it was the need for more men after D-Day & Normandy was won..

@LordGeorgeRodney An Operation like D-Day would have been impossible for the British Empire due to many reasons, The British didnt even have enough landing craft or troops, It took both the Empire & US years to build for an Operation like D-Day. And it could have very easy ended in disaster due to many reasons. Alone the British could be too busy in Italy and the Red Army would have taken Berlin 1945, 46-at the latest. America was needed for D-Day for manpower,resources for successful landing.

The only time America overtook was AFTER the battle of Normandy was won & the bulk of the fighting was against the 2nd British army

Ask Model & Runsdedt they both declared that the 2nd British army was more feared than the Americans.. Hence why during Op Cobra there were 190 Germans tanks & a few divisions compared to 700 German tanks & many SS divisions facing the Brits & Canadians.

As a testament we took more prisoners

It was the Brits who took the vast majority of Germans & Italians prisoner.

75,000 Germans (mainly in Tunis) & 120,000 Italians... maybe more.

With fuel it was no problem the British & Soviets were using the Iranian oil from the Trans Iranian railway.. and much more where that came from in the Middle East..

@LordGeorgeRodney Africa was a British & Empire victory, and Italy was wide open for invasion. Without the U.S the British could invade Italy but Operation like D-Day would be impossible alone. The Allies were only able on Normandy due to the fact 75% of what was left of the Axis forces was fighting the Red Army. Britain alone could have not been able to invade France in time, The Red Army would have won by then. Churchill didnt want Communist enemy on Britain doorstep.

The French had miles better tanks in 1940 but they didnt have tank divisions with radios, And they wernt protected by the Air! The French Air-Force was very poor most were British R.A.F after the defeat the Dunkirk and fall of France, It was Britain who changed tactics and U.S and U.K started to change things.
