  • Lovely

  • The main theme of the video game "Wario Land" is based on this song!^^

  • I have a doll with a key and when you turn her, the music is this melody and i never knew the words till now. my aunt bought it me :D

  • This is a great classic American song written in the 1800's by Stephen Foster. Many people have covered it from Bing to the Beatles. I have heard it in many movies, television series, and cartoons. I never get tired of hearing it though.

  • @demme55 it was written in 1864 the year stephen foster died and was published same year. it was the melody in GWTW intermission. orbison is better.

  • good old bing .that old crooning voice .the best for this music .im 71 and i remember when this was first sung by bing.it was a big hit. i will never forget him .i play this song on my keyboard.thank you for bringing this song back to life .you did him proud .and if he were here to see this video you have done ,he would say the same as me ..WELL DONE.

  • @74gretchen How Big was the sack?

  • @axle007james

    What a sad sack for sure

  • He was a Father and head of his home, no thugs or punks did he raise.

    He was a man in a business full of scum IMO

    A good man was he, Rest In Peach Bing!

  • Rest In Peace Der Bingle !

  • @Nationsnotregimes Unfortunately you're wrong, at least in part about this. I happen to know his son Nathaniel personally, and he's a racist little prick. Sorry.

  • I sang this to my sister

  • @kckasie no one really cares

  • Bing is awesome, and a great song--what could be better? I like singers of this day, especially Bing, whose voice was above the instrumentation, as Bing's rich, warm baritone glided over the strings, creating magic. Nowadays, listen to "Young Country"-they have to almost shout over the loud insturmentation. If they'd lower the volum of the instruments, the singers nowadays could release their natural voices, but the American public nowadays loves volume, not rich voices like Bing's. Sad.

  • @BigBingFan I agree with you on what you say about the present public, and I'm saying this as a 19-year-old who prefers more traditional music over more contemporary music.

  • I love this song. I got a music statue of a Wizard and Dragon years ago for Christmas when I was only about 9 or 10. I'm 17 now and I still take it out and listen to it play this song. I love it. It kind of depresses me because i didn't like the song when I was a kid but I like the song yet I don't like it because it reminds me of my childhood and I feel like I grew up too fast.

  • Love this song, its so close to me and my bro n sisters cause our mom sang it to us when we were little. And Bing crosby is awesome

  • my daughter just bought me a snow globe with an angel inside that plays this song which I've always loved!! It was a surprise to my daughter cuz she didn't know this until she gave it to me!!

  • i can play this on piano now! i just learned it today

  • When I was a little girl, my father sang this song to me. He fancied himself a great crooner, but he was my dad and he sang it perfectly. Thanks for the step back in time.

  • I love his voice what happened to these kinds of voices in music they are beautiful

  • Bearstien Bears

  • that's where I heard the song from too!

    I now love this song.

  • A beautiful, lilting and dreamy tune, coupled with poetically serene lyrics. Separate the melody from the lyrics and each will still stand on its own. A masterpiece. Stephen Foster will live forever for this one song alone.

  • They played this song in honer of my granfather at his funeral. It was his favorite song that he sang all the time.Every time I hear it,it brings tears to my eyes.

  • this was on hey arnold when i was younger, since then ive loved this song.

  • Yes, actually.

  • Beautiful dreamer, out on the sea,

    Mermaids are chaunting the wild lorelie;

    Over the streamlet vapors are borne,

    Waiting to fade at the bright coming morn.

    Beautiful dreamer, beam on my heart,

    E'en as the morn on the streamlet and sea;

    Then will all clouds of sorrow depart,

    Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me!

  • Such beautiful lyrics... amazing vocals too.

  • Beautiful dreamer, wake unto me,

    Starlight and dewdrops are waiting for thee;

    Sounds of the rude world, heard in the day,

    Lull'd by the moonlight have all pass'd away!

    Beautiful dreamer, queen of my song,

    List while I woo thee with soft melody;

    Gone are the cares of life's busy throng,

    Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me

    Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me

  • yeah this a classic
