Gremlins scared me as a kid because, at the end, the dad told me that Gremlins hide in machines that are broken and we had a lot of broken crap in my house.
It pisses me off when people laugh at the first Evil Dead. Evil Dead 2 has some intentionally funny parts, but both movies are still really scary and are my favourite horror movies. I never could get into the first Demons, but Demons 2 is one of the best and it's scary. But those are movies I didn't see until I was a teen.
Like many others, I was terrified of Freddy when I was little and would cry from hearing his voice on the radio, but by the time I was 9 I became a big horror fan.
The Evil Dead didn't really scare me when I saw it as a teen. I used to walk by my local park, thinking of all those trees... Demons was a total splatterfest. Fantastic film. The one thing that disturbed me about The Howling when I saw it on TV as a kid, oddly enough, was that S&M / snuff video shown in the pawn shop lol
i know the movie critters and the freddy kruger movies and his tv show used to scare me alot when i was about 7 years old. They dont bother me anymore now that im older i just laugh at freddy cause he's a trip, lol oh yea and the it clown and the werewolf from silverbullet scared me too but i agree those were some awesome movie's back then :-)
I once was up late and switched on the tv when i was a kid to sneak up and hopefully see a grown-up film with swear words and violence! What i got was the exact scene in An American Werewolf In London where the guy transforms into the wolf. I couldn't turn the tv off quick enough and scampered back into bed. With the light on! Even now when i watch it I still remember how scared i was when i was a kid.
i remember going 2 blockbuster and i would get a video game and my older sister being the horror fan that she is would always get a a scary movie so night of the living dead both the original and the remake chud and the creep show movies all made me sleep with the light on as a kid
the movie that scared me the most as a kid was CANDYMAN !!! after i saw that one i was scared to go to the bathroom for like a week because of the mirriors and stuff lol.
well i never watched horror movies when I was a kid but I was always afraid of Darth Vader and Voldemort coming into my my room and killing me when I was sleeping
Hellraiser, it scared the shit out of me when I first saw it. The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and for some reason, that 90's remake of The Haunting. I was 8 when I saw that and I had nightmares from it, it must have been the hanging scene. Horror has sort of been my obsession ever since. Great video man!
when i was little i was scared of the first freddy movie, but i hav seen a lot of horror movies since then and the best one without any doubt is mirrors. Not one person in the cinema wasn't terrified and i even remember at one point i closed my eyes ,it was fucking amazing. If you havent seen it, get it turn off the lights lock the door and be prepared t shit a brick XD
"The Exorcist" Scared the shit out of me when i was a kid. I saw it wen I was 7. I didn't sleep for weeks. I watched it again wen i was 13 and it wasn't scary anymore but i would have to say that that was the scariest movie i have ever seen.
" IT's ALIVE" Damn son, i was lookin under the bed, in the closet, under the sink, EVERYWHERE to make sure that damn little baby wasnt in my house...LOL...also, actually Jaws scared the hell outta me..i was 8 when it came out.
