The end is fucking brilliant. All of the characters portrayed as actors goofing off behind the scenes. That's simply brilliant. Not what you'd expect from a game this intense but it still fits so well. I love it.

The writer of the Silent Hill film was Roger Avary, who while American/Canadian/Brazilian took a lot of ideas from Gans for his treatment of Silent Hill. It was mainly Gans' idea to switch the gender of the lead protagonist (see special features from the film DVD). And no, Team Silent made the first 4 games and wrote the scripts for all but Shattered Memories.

silent hill and resident evil are both survival horror games but RE escaped from the principal objective, I mean, RE4 was realy great and still get focus on horror BUT on five what do we see? a couple of "good looking cops whit muscles, who never hurt themselfs and are amazing agile and streight"

Harry was the best protagonist. Konami really did a good job of convincing you that he is just this normal guy. It's defiantly my favorite Silent hill and it has the best "first ten minutes" playing experience out of them all.

Sort of. Christopher Gans said that while reading the script for Silent Hill, he felt that the love Harry had for his child was like that of a mother. I completely disagree with Mr. Gans, as father's can love their children the same and even more than a mother can. I liked how Silent Hill broke away from the traditional parental roles and had a caring father (for a child not even his biologically) and an uncaring mother who used her daughter.
sometimes video games dont have a really good story for a video game. example is super mario brothers and wing commander. but i dont know how they could mess up silent hill and resident evil. they both have great stories and just feels like movies with all those camera movements. i really hope the metal gear solid movie konami are making doesnt suck.metal gear solid would be a great concept and story for a movie right? i dont know how they can screw something like metal gear solid up completely.

The baby is Heather from the 3rd game the reborn Alessa and Cheryl with the souls brought back as one. Cybil's alive because the player saved her instead of killing her in the amusement park (which was not the obvious thing to do in the game). The movie is VERY, VERY loosely based on the actual game. well yes and no. Cheryl is still alive, she and Alessa become one person, who is Heather. Harry knows that since she's both that things could happen, which is why he gave Heater the pill that she uses in Silent Hill 3.
And when you see Cybil with Harry as he picks up Cheryl, it almost makes it seem like Cybil would have been around for Heathers childhood being her mother.

Yes I know about the letter from Harry that explains things, but Cheryl still technically survives, she never did die, since she and alessa become one person, neither one is killed off, and the two of them birth the god in Silent Hill 3.

Perhaps Cheryl was split from Alessa, and something happend where she wanted to go visit silent hill, or Harry felt a draw to go there, kinda like the movie (which I doubt) As for what happens to Cheryl and Alessa, it'd be that they're absorbed into the god, and when the god dies, their spirit is reborn into one body, thus creating heather. Hopefully there'll be more explination on this story in Homecomming. Kinda like how Sh4 brought more light on the 21 sacriments murders.

There was something in Sh2 that talked about Sullivan's first 5 murders, and his suicide, they really didn't expand upon it untill SH4, but Sh2 does talk about the "Red Devil" aka the Orphanage director
Of all Silent Hill games, the first part is my favourite. Actually I think the Silent Hill games is getting less sad, and they have not as good stories. But that's my option.
Many ppl have that struggle between the father-daughter love in sh1 vs wife-husband in sh2, imho, i think sh2 has a nice story, tho the enemies are ultra sucky and terribly easy to kill, but sh1 still gives me the chills, and will always be the best game-movie experience for me.
I've always been a fan of SH2 and SH4 (thanks to Xbox) but never could get my hands on the other SH games. Thanks to you, I'm now a major fan of this series. Please continue making more vids like this for future SH games.
I know, but this might sound like a lame excuse to get the UFO ending. I was afraid to finish the game on hard mode because I was running out of health items so I wanted to take the easy way out and get the UFO ending, which I did twice. Now I've beaten the game five times already. It's funny though!

I don't know if this is the true ending. The true one is either this one (Harry and Cybil survived and bring a baby) or the fair one (Harry survived with that baby but Cybil died)
Yeah, I went and looked it up on Wikipedia, and it said that it's currently unknown what happened to Cybil... so I guess we'll have to wait and see if they bring her back or not to find out.

No Alessa died, but Alessa made a baby version of her self so harry could protect her. And that is Heather, or Cheryl.

Since cinema is a different medium and some aspects of one medium (a game, in this case) do not always translate well into another (a movie), a little reformulating had to be done in order to make the movie be more successful, horror movies reaching a different, wider audience than the game upon which it was based). Additionally, the movie was designed around a more Western model of horror cinema, rather than that of the Japanese, the audience for which the game was initially made. ;)

Sort of. Christopher Gans said that while reading the script for Silent Hill, he felt that the love Harry had for his child was like that of a mother. I completely disagree with Mr. Gans, as father's can love their children the same and even more than a mother can. I liked how Silent Hill broke away from the traditional parental roles and had a caring father (for a child not even his biologically) and an uncaring mother who used her daughter.

I kind of pretended the movie never happened.
After i watched it, i wanted to forget about it.
It would have been a great movie if they followed the story from SH1.
If they go for a 2 i'm hoping they aleast try to follow SH2's story, cause SH2's story was bueatifull.

sometimes video games dont have a really good story for a video game. example is super mario brothers and wing commander. but i dont know how they could mess up silent hill and resident evil. they both have great stories and just feels like movies with all those camera movements. i really hope the metal gear solid movie konami are making doesnt suck.metal gear solid would be a great concept and story for a movie right? i dont know how they can screw something like metal gear solid up completely.

The baby is Heather from the 3rd game the reborn Alessa and Cheryl with the souls brought back as one. Cybil's alive because the player saved her instead of killing her in the amusement park (which was not the obvious thing to do in the game). The movie is VERY, VERY loosely based on the actual game. Stupid Frenchies not believing a male would do this for his child IRL.

@OriginalNeomoon I never actually thought of that, you're actually right, even though I have only played SH 1 and 2, I know little about 3-Homecoming, and the only Female character that's the protagonist is Heather, and she's fighting to get back to her father (I think), what I'm saying is that these SH franchises are mostly responsible males who are fighting for their loved ones, WHICH DON'T PORTRAY SELFISH DOUCHE BAGS THAT GIVE MEN A BAD NAME LIKE THE FEMINIST MEDIA DOES SO

This Cheryl wasn't the Cheryl that Got missing...so u can't say tht Cheryl was alive at the end...He gets another baby from Alessa...which is the cheryl we play with SH 3...nick named Heather

well yes and no. Cheryl is still alive, she and Alessa become one person, who is Heather. Harry knows that since she's both that things could happen, which is why he gave Heater the pill that she uses in Silent Hill 3.
And when you see Cybil with Harry as he picks up Cheryl, it almost makes it seem like Cybil would have been around for Heathers childhood being her mother.

Yes I know about the letter from Harry that explains things, but Cheryl still technically survives, she never did die, since she and alessa become one person, neither one is killed off, and the two of them birth the god in Silent Hill 3.

yeah...I hv to agree with u for that..but if the missing Cheryl didn't die...then where is she??...was she a reason to bring Harry in Silent hill???...because she was just an adopted child..and she also looked like Alessa because she was Alessa..so it means that she was just for bringing Harry to Silent hill and after many tries of finding her...Harry meets the real Allessa and at the end...Alessa gives a baby (with her soul in it to harry)...right!!!? Thats true too. Perhaps Cheryl was split from Alessa, and something happend where she wanted to go visit silent hill, or Harry felt a draw to go there, kinda like the movie (which I doubt) As for what happens to Cheryl and Alessa, it'd be that they're absorbed into the god, and when the god dies, their spirit is reborn into one body, thus creating heather. Hopefully there'll be more explination on this story in Homecomming. Kinda like how Sh4 brought more light on the 21 sacriments murders.

yeah..that really makes sense..Cheryl 1 absorbed in Alessa for the birth of God..and then together creating Heather....by the way...I hv a question....In SH 2, James reads a newspaper that talks abt Walter Sullivan right!...over there it says that Walter didn't kill any one...there was a red devil within him...that did it...but in SH 4.. they didn't mention that...and made him a villain...???

There was something in Sh2 that talked about Sullivan's first 5 murders, and his suicide, they really didn't expand upon it untill SH4, but Sh2 does talk about the "Red Devil" aka the Orphanage director

the Cannon ending is that both Cybil and Cheryl survive, so you dont need to pretend SH3 wasn't invented.

Of all Silent Hill games, the first part is my favourite. Actually I think the Silent Hill games is getting less sad, and they have not as good stories. But that's my option.

Many ppl have that struggle between the father-daughter love in sh1 vs wife-husband in sh2, imho, i think sh2 has a nice story, tho the enemies are ultra sucky and terribly easy to kill, but sh1 still gives me the chills, and will always be the best game-movie experience for me.

I know, but this might sound like a lame excuse to get the UFO ending. I was afraid to finish the game on hard mode because I was running out of health items so I wanted to take the easy way out and get the UFO ending, which I did twice. Now I've beaten the game five times already. It's funny though!

I don't know if this is the true ending. The true one is either this one (Harry and Cybil survived and bring a baby) or the fair one (Harry survived with that baby but Cybil died)

Yeah, I went and looked it up on Wikipedia, and it said that it's currently unknown what happened to Cybil... so I guess we'll have to wait and see if they bring her back or not to find out.

I think the true one is where Cybil dies, because she isn't in Silent Hill 3. The developers might have just wrote her out of the storyline.
