  • Very helpfull bud, Thanks :) What would you say is a good price for a steel striker?

  • @CiaranRooney125 You can get generic kits that include char and flint for about 15-20 however expect to spend 30-45 for custom ones like my dragon. If money is an issue you can recover an old file and use it since they usually have a high carbon content.

  • @antagonizerr Ahh thanks a million bud, Wulamallessin :)

  • I wanna carry steel with me now.

  • go to flintandsteel.webs.com

  • Have you tried alternatives to flint? Would it work with a piece of broken glass?

  • @69penetrator69 no but quartz will work. actually, anything above seven on the whatever rock harndess scale will work i think.

  • i want to try using a unbreakable ceramic knife as the flint. cause its so aggrevating when the flint gets dull and you cant sharpen it.

  • you dont strike the flint bar you rub metal across it

  • i have so many flints i just collect them

  • where could i get some carbon steel? all i have is stainless and that stuff doesnt work

  • @nvrhaveaniceday just get a knife and rub it across it

  • where do you get the flint and striker online and wat is the best price

  • what do u have to replace first: the stricker or the flint? (if u have a perfect technique)

  • striker. flint is stronger

  • wow man, your explanation really fixed my form for striking, now im not wasting time flint or char cloth any more. Thanks so much

  • is here about river flint all the time whats so good about it beside starting fire and can u find them in any river?

  • umm where do u buy flint in Canada??

  • Great job showing the real use of flint and steel. Too many people use the ferrocerium stick and steel stricker and call it a "flint and steel"

  • which is better quartz or flint?

  • i would say flint becouse that is what it acctually started it

  • yeah... flint is much easier to get sparks then quartz.

  • were can i find flint in United States?

and what state can i find flint and is it possible to use another rock?

  • You can find flint rock all over the US.. Just go somewhere with lots of rocks, like a river/stream.. I guess you should check out flint more online from Google images so you know what to look for though..

  • im just after flint =/

  • Where/how can you naturally find flint and steel?

  • You can sometimes find flint under fallen trees, natural flint looks alot like Mica and is almost glass like, im not sure if you can use natural flint to generate sparks though...

  • I like the video where you showed how to make burnt cloth also.

    Thanks

  • very usfull i got lost in the forest 2 months ago for 2 days that would have helped to know

  • would any piece of metal work? whats so special about those.

  • They're steel with a high carbon content.

  • That's impressive technique, and a good video. Thanks for sharing, I found it really useful.
