He has a horrendous matchup against Chun Li, the most popular character among tournament players. It's seriously one of the worst in the game. But even without, he's barely high tier. He has no game outside his pokes and juggles, though both of those are very good. He can't punish from afar and he only has one launching normal which can be blocked low or high or parried once, that he relies on to set up all his shit. His SA2 and SA3 are great. Health is average. Needs gimmicks.
@pookiethegamer His good pokes go harmlessly over crouching Chun li, and she can crouch forward super on reaction. Oro's priority is also notably bad, and chun li's is notably good, so he tends to lose more often than trade. SA is super art. Oro's supers are incredibly good. Yes the corner traps are incredibly effective, and Oro has no trouble pushing his opponents to corners nor escaping them himself.
4:55 WATCH the damage! It starts from chip like activating Genei-Jin sometimes, and it's BRUTAL! I think the 1-button version lasts longer (and might also do more chip).
3. the only reason it might do more chip is because it lasts longer. but in terms of chip damage per attack input, ex version will do more chip damage, simply because there are more "rocks" floating.
EX means what every other EX moves mean in third strike. press two buttons while executing (most) special moves to unleash the EX version of the move. oro's specials are all EXable.
'Sorry :P I messed up and thought I read that ppl were talking about dif versions of Tengu ("ex" version of a super?!?!). I forgot to mention that the command throw was used after GJ was activated, for the case I was mentioning...
Aroha's Oro almost getting an OCV is Godly and the comeback against Yama's Yun in the 1st round was amazing. Props to Neon who parryed out of the Yagyu Dama Unblockable o_0
so what keeps Oro from being top tier?
I have the game but I don't know much about it?
does he have low health or something?

@moonlitearthx14
What exactly makes him a bad match up to Chun-li? & what does SA mean?
At 4:50 seems like a deadly corner trap, only other person with a corner trap like that is Urien.

1. genei jin rarely does chip damage.
2. the non-ex version does last a lot longer.
3. the only reason it might do more chip is because it lasts longer. but in terms of chip damage per attack input, ex version will do more chip damage, simply because there are more "rocks" floating.

'OOPS...I meant, more like a tick into command grab, genei-jin. EX means a dif # of buttons used during Tengu activation?

and why would you command throw into genei jin?

lol @ the haters rooting against Oro. That man has zen-like patience. How humiliating it must be to play against him.
Great find Shend

WHAT haters? I also think that the only players who'd complain about Oros are those who've played against Thanatos or Dirty Music.

Watching Oro beat the hell out of the other team was very entertaining. Gives you some inspiration to play as Oro. xD
