I wish there were a way to not need to take from the govt, but I'm 50 and became disabled 17 years ago, so my social security check is pretty much all I have for income. Its not easy living/surviving AND prepping on 200 bucks a week, but for right now, its the best I can do. So its what I do...for me, for my animals, for my girlfriend and her family. However what i can definetly tell you you guys are preparing for recession and ww3 .All countries are already preparing for the big war with china.I doubt its going to happen in 2012 since many preparation wont finish in europe in 2012 but its the globalisation of currency and moneystreams.

Hey PopPrepper. There are many of us that feel the same way. Civilization is about to make a major shift but in which way? I have a family as well, 5 yr old daughter and a 1 yr old boy. The stress that I have is how do I keep them safe and honestly I do not know if I can. I have 2 yrs of food, fortified the home, 3rd Degree Black belt in BJJ and all my firearm tactical training. I agree, sadly, voting has become a waste of my time. I am very suspicious of anyone who tells me exactly what I want to hear. It now feels to me like my vote is just another form of encouragement for a system I no longer support. I think Ill soon be living in a country that has no respect for its people, so why should I have respect for my government? My creator made me free and origional, why should I die a copy? Id rather be cold and free than enjoy the wooly warmth of sheeplike ignorance

I again took an oath in 1991 to serve and protect AND enforce the laws of my state. After 20 years in law enforcement and 5 yrs from retirement I just dont know if I believe in the oath anymore. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I have been prepping for many years and did not even know I was doing it. A little extra food in the pantry. Couple of extra flashlights and batteries, just in case. Some supplies in the garage so I can fix things around the house and not have to run to the store. Camping and portable stuff I can use in an emergency. When I wanted to start "prepping", I looked around and found I had a start right here already. Have added to it now. Take care my friend.
It's frustrating when people just WON'T seem to "get it". I'm coming to realize that "this dance ain't for everybody..." [grin] I don't know why some and not others. I don't know the future. All I know is that it was placed HEAVILY on my heart to prepare. Initially I tried to inform people. I felt like one of those nuts downtown wearing the big signs that say "the end is near!" It was fruitless. I've stopped ringing that bell. It makes it easier to "listen" to what I'm "supposed" to do.

I completely agree, I mean a year ago I didn't know what prepping was at all... And then over time watching a video here and there got me to thinking and although I can't do alot of long term stuff, I have been buying first aid products here and there, and buying can goods to put away jus in case... I think it has made me a more mature man in the process as well... So I highly appreciate all the videos in the prepping and gun community!

We have to be calm and polite here in France but have every right to ask for ID and written requests. We also cannot be bothered by police from evening until dawn, and they must address us formally and politely.
I listened to my Grandmother and parents about the Depression. I see it coming. your right we should and can prepare. This is how I see it. If I prepare and nothing happens I have lost nothing I have groceries,can goods and other supplies to live on. If I don't and something does happen I could lose it all. Nice one Pop - I have to agree with you, the general feeling I get with the world at the moment is that we dont have much time before the SHTF - even my relatives that dont know much about this prepping stuff have the same thoughts. Now it's up to me to help them on their way to being prepared for what's coming - it's too much for just me to provide for them. I don't want to be fighting with the unprepared to provide for them. I'd rather have the wagons circled in a familiar place with preps.

@TheSheChef The ones who scare me are: anyone who uses the word "hipster," anyone who claims they don't like "brain dead" people, and anyone who claims they are "smart," have a high IQ, all that. Many have claimed they have "bug out bags" and yet don't even own underwear nor know where their papers are! I find this again and again! For people with guns and ammo, I ask about the expiry dates on the ammo and sure enough, they've got old, dangerous stuff on hand. Yeow!

It began 4 years ago. An impression that I felt when I was teaching at church. It was a small voice that just said to prepare. This came and went with a sense of urgency building. I also had this dream about 4 to 5 months which I attached the video. Now I am in full prep mode. It is a very sad state that this country is where it has come to. Such a unique and special nation and it just seems to be slowly starved to death, the ideals, the liberty, the freedom, being starved slowly.
I prep, and learn to safeguard my family. also spread the word of truth of the lord to try to save this country. I would be honored to stand shoulder to shoulder with you and a lot of other people I never met here to defend the land of the free. It is getting close. God bless us all. Be Safe

prepare for the worst and pray for the best is all any of us can do we are trying to raise most of our own foods just because of how expencive food is getting we have found that with the fresh eggs we are getting from our chickens more then covers the feed bill for them and when we need to we can always have a chicken for dinner

Well said. I'm of the same mind. My motto is "anything is better than nothing". Anything you can do, even if it's small, could make a big difference when things get bad. And you don't need a SHTF for your preps to come in handy, even a layoff or a drop in business could do it.
I've had a hard time convincing some people that even some of the little steps I've taken could be useful. They seem to think if you can't instantly jump to a YankeePrepper level of prep then it's pointless.

@TheSheChef The ones who scare me are: anyone who uses the word "hipster," anyone who claims they don't like "brain dead" people, and anyone who claims they are "smart," have a high IQ, all that. Many have claimed they have "bug out bags" and yet don't even own underwear nor know where their papers are! I find this again and again! For people with guns and ammo, I ask about the expiry dates on the ammo and sure enough, they've got old, dangerous stuff on hand. Yeow!

It began 4 years ago. An impression that I felt when I was teaching at church. It was a small voice that just said to prepare. This came and went with a sense of urgency building. I also had this dream about 4 to 5 months which I attached the video. Now I am in full prep mode. It is a very sad state that this country is where it has come to. Such a unique and special nation and it just seems to be slowly starved to death, the ideals, the liberty, the freedom, being starved slowly.

Love your honesty Brother. Remember to live your life to the fullest. If you let prepping and worrying take over your life you are robbing your day to day god given life. Im not saying dont prepare just dont let it consume you. I went through a period where I was obsessed with it. I want to enjoy life not worry about it.

prepare for the worst and pray for the best is all any of us can do we are trying to raise most of our own foods just because of how expencive food is getting we have found that with the fresh eggs we are getting from our chickens more then covers the feed bill for them and when we need to we can always have a chicken for dinner

Thanks for this vid PopPrepper-To those who aren't sure about when or if they want to become preppers I say this: Envision there's civil unrest for whatever reason or an eathquake,tornado,hurricane,truckers strike, you name it. You and your family are on a corner in a very long line of very angry people-all waiting for the F.E.M.A. truck to arrive with coffee and a sandwich. Keep prepping my friends!

Well said. I'm of the same mind. My motto is "anything is better than nothing". Anything you can do, even if it's small, could make a big difference when things get bad. And you don't need a SHTF for your preps to come in handy, even a layoff or a drop in business could do it.
I've had a hard time convincing some people that even some of the little steps I've taken could be useful. They seem to think if you can't instantly jump to a YankeePrepper level of prep then it's pointless.

And you're right, when some people see all of the big preps out there they sometimes get discouraged. Keep your light shining, people that are looking will find you.....I did.

Your so right. I have had things gappen to me and at the time I had no idea why...but it always seems to show itself sooner or later why. Like you i have been steered to where I am and what I am doing. Not that I don't have any control or free will, I do. As does everyone.
It is important to look at the big picturem bur dont forget to look in your own back yard for what is important in your life.
