That would be illegal and very dumb. I'll only ever use fireworks the way they were intended to be used. If the warning label states "do not hold in hand", as with Roman candles, then I wouldn't hold them in my hand - I'd use my launch base first (and before I shoot off anything, I make sure it's securely in place. I use rocks around the base for artillery shells to add extra support, to minimize the chances of it knocking over.

This dude is great..and this is a great training video to show kids who are starting to use fireworks for the first time so they know how to light them. Most kids tend to be daring and almost always stand much too close. When you're an adult, you know better and you don't panic in situations where stuff comes flying at you (ok, this isn't true of everyone) but a kid will panic and chances are put him/her-self in danger. Firecrackers are not cool, and you dont have to run that far back everytime. Cracker balls are not cool. Smoke balls should only be used if you are like 10

I did have a lot of fun with this, not as much as the record year (2005 or 2006), I just take safety precautions first. But even then, like my game design stuff, I figure out how to do this and resolve any problems. The only way to be able to pay a $1500 hospital stay from injuries due to not being safe is getting a loan.

Safety first. When it comes to fireworks, you have to think what could possibly go wrong and plan accordingly so that it doesn't happen. Why do you suppose I modified the launch base in part 6? Why do I run like crazy when firecrackers are lit? It's better to be safe than sorry. Care to foot a $1500 hospital bill?

Safety first, fun second. That's the best way. When doing these combos, take note of how I set them up (in part 5 I believe, possibly late in 4). Apparently, many think its fun first, safety second.

Do that and you'll have a hard time breathing and you risk setting your house on fire because these things get very hot, especially when the fuse finally starts it up.

Inside an enclosed air-sealed and fireproof container is about the best you'll get. Still, if you read the package's warnings, you'll see things like "for outdoor use only" and there's a good, logical reason for this. Unless you want to burn your house down (highly not recommended) and throw away a few thousand bucks in repairs since insurance is unlikely going to accept a claim, then do whatever. Either way, don't do it!

Jumping jacks are a minature version of a firework called a "flower."

To get them to perform their best, you should light them on a flat surface, i.e., the road, instead of the dirt / pebble driveway.
