@kagomegirl021 Last year I was waiting at a bus stop with a group of random people when two boys started dancing, two more just joined in, others started clapping and an older woman just started vocalizing and I joined in

by tapping a quarter on a nearby scaffold. We kept it up for about two minutes and then we all just clapped and laughed and the moment was just pure magic. Spontaneous bus stop musical still has me smiling. I love New York!

Come on! This was not spontaneous! I don't deny the spirit of it all- it's my favourite flashmob ever - but it was staged and rehearsed. The intention was to advertise the new production of The Sound of Music and the castings for the main role or something like that.

This is what life is SUPPOSED to be like, everyone! People TOGETHER, DANCING, HAVING FUN! Not fighting over religion, or ideologies, or stupid political parties, or whether some group is building their community center somewhere! When will we humans quit being so mean and stupid and just be together, dancing the dance of life together?? This video shows it's possible! All we need is the will to stop fighting and start dancing!

From what I've heard, they get professional stage performers to mingle with people, then start joining in the performance, to preserve the feeling that it's all spontaneous. However, there are a lot of people with no idea what is going on, and some of whom just watch in amazement, while others join in the fun! :) It's supposed to cheer people up, and it definitely works for me!

This was actually a commercial stunt for a new television programme in Belgium where they would look for a person to play the role of Maria in the Dutch musical of The Sound Of Music. It hit all newspapers and journals here in Belgium so they did get noticed ;)
