Did not work for me. Windows 7 IE9. When I clicked on the first link, I did not get the 'options' box in order to save. I got this junk: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains\googleadservices] [HKEY_cURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains\googleadservices.co.... It goes on forever...
@wannafantaa Glad to hear it works. Looks like I've finally found a simple way to show others how to block advertisements without needing a third-party add-on! (Sorry Firefox fans, but we all know that more add-ons = more resources gone + more vulnerabilities.)
ok i seen on your home page that you are looking for topics for new vids
well why don't you do the internet exploder 9 beta install (i tried to try it out but it goes on for about 4 or 5 minutes then the installer just disappears with no error messages so i guess i will wait untill it is officially out)
@Justchuck69 IE 9 is at RC now, and will soon be out as a released version. The reason why I don't want to create such videos immediately is because how fast they will become obsolete. In fact, my first video, on how to install IE 8, will become obsolete (except for Windows XP users) when IE 9 comes out.
cool beans....I haven't seen an adsense ad in YEARS, but I've been using a hosts file to block them...your way seems a lot simpler to manage...Thanks!
@phillyflash43 I've seen that way, which may be the only way for it to work for other browsers that do not support website zones. The use of InPrivate was something I wanted to look into, but not until later did I find that someone ported a list of URLs from, I believe, the adsense program website. It's too bad that this little-known feature is little known. People can be so ignorant, I've seen too many simply bash Internet Explorer, and give me no reason, except that it's "slow."
When i clicked Google "Active" advertisement blocker from l the link in the link in the description, i get this
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains\googleadservices
