Try using food to get him interested in the area that the water is in. Give him a treat, affection and praise when he comes in contact with the pool and work slowly until you can tempt him into the water with the food. When he's in give him a treat and lots of praise again. You have to make sure that he gets in and out on his own or else he will freak out and you will have to start all over again.

Lol, I have a husky shepherd Mix we can not keep her out of water at all, I took her out on the boat with my Search and Rescue dog one time and I ended up having to jump in after both of them because they refused to get out of the river and back in the boat we were on just be thankful it's a baby pool and not like 50 ft plus deep with two huge dogs that were set on playing a little recklessly.

Maybe but the Rescue dog I worked with and kept was 176 pounds at the time of they wanted to go for a dip in the river she was a ride along before he pasted away he was 220lbs nothing but muscle there is a difference between tall and then bulky which both dogs were I have seen some big Danes in my time at a rehab center for Abused and Neglected dogs but this is not a contest it was a funny story I was sharing if YOU read the whole comment and not just what you wanted to see.

when he bit the hose that reminds me of my old dog Tyson, a german shephard, my grandparents were watering their flowers with a hose but they left it running and the dog grabbed it, and started running around the yard and my uncle had just washed his car and Tyson, with the hose still in his mouth, walked all around the car and soaked it xD

I have had danes most of my adult life and they do go through a bony,lanky stage. They grow so fast - I once told my husband not to take Cane(our Dane) outside until after dark for fear people would think he was not being fed(lol) and the dog ate like no tomorrow..but once he was grown - he tipped the scales at 198 - so be patient, your dane will get there.

You should search up on google what emaciated is--if your dog looks like that, there's a serious problem.

If it looks bad to you, you should go to your nearest/most trusted veterinarian and find out what you can do, or find out if there's anything wrong with him.

i have danes and it seems to me like they go through a long lanky stage, no matter how much they eatyou can still see there ribs. i always look at it as a good thing because you can tell it there bones are growing properly, do not worry too much about it, just make sure there is plenty of protien and calcium in its diet, and they drink ALOT of water, as long as you cant stick your fingers between its ribs and that the dogs back bone is not really ridged looking, then it is fine.
