I have an 04 GTP and had the same problem. It turned out to be an EBCM problem but I also had a hub issue too. My poor quality video (taken with a Blackberry) is on my channel.
I've had the ABS and traction control alerts come up on my Grand Prix a couple times, but they've never stayed on like the check tire pressure alert. My brakes also tend to pulsate when I brake at about 20 MPH or below despite the fact I got the front rotors replaced. I brought it to the dealership and they said it might be the ABS system or sensors, quoting an absurd price. Anyone know what that's likely caused by?
OMG!...I hate those error messages but I wish that I knew to look on youtube 1st b4 I changed out the Master Cylender and bleed out all four brakes...O well guess I was gonna have to change that eventually, but my ABS light and Trac light comes on too. Now I know to go get the cord tomorrow. I Have a question myself to anyone else here...Is it best to just change both Sensors in the front or just on the side where you feel the issue coming from?
its a wheel speed sensor mostly in the front and have them check your rack a pinoin steering theres no problem really just sensors cause all that to happen
it can happen to any car with abs and traction control. it just depends on the condition it is in just like anything else on a car. the biggest issue and frustration with grand prix's is that they have a series of systems that interact with each other using the wheel speed sensor on the hub assembly. the list starts with ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, MAGNASTEER, STABILITRACK, and even speedometer and shifting can be delayed. most of the time its the hub that needs to be replaced.
