i think this one is better cuz it comes with a 60gb hard drive in it, but the video quality of the canon hv30 is better. the only thing i don't like about the canon hv30 is: you record your videos on a cassette instead of a hard drive

recording in tape is much better than on hard drive or CD, becaus you don't have any quality loss, and it's easier to montage the video.

The only difference between sr11 and sr12 is that sr12 has more harddrive space: 120gb

sr11: 60gb, besides that they're the same.

Im thinking of buying one and i think ill go for sr11, you can still record 22 hrs of full hd footage. ;)

I am total novice and here's what I got 1st time out.Fantastic auto-focus;I was even impressed with the end bit where I was just swinging the cam while I was walking and din't know it was on.

Edited in wmm.I don't have the processing power for Vegas or Pinnacle;Sony does not include edit software & u have to have a 2.8ghz cpu & lots of ram.I tried with 2.0ghz & 4G ram and no go.)1/2 loss of quality converting to mpeg-2 or wmv from the Sony supplied "viewing" software.

Nice. Hdd sr11, have you figured out how to upload high quality videos yet, i havent, it saves them in avchd, they look amazing on my flat panel hd tv, but when converted it loses a lot o definition> Any Tip, Tip For You, Use the telephoto Feature it is fucking amazing!

Very nice, there are I think 3 settings for HD. HDXP---HDSP---HDLP. HDXP is the best.
