I've been living in southern cali for a little over a year now, from what I've observed, anything over a 4 pointer is quite rare, the last one I felt was a 5.4 back on July 7th last year, almost a year ago. Was living in Phoenix at the time this 7.2 hit and felt it there.
I was in the Navy in 'A' school. Those days were so much fun. School was easy, first time in Cali, fine women....i was in my mid 20's....met my best friend in boot camp....We were best buds until he passed in 2004 from a heart attack. RIP Bryan

haiti has really poor construction which was why everything fell. even though there are different types of earthquakes (side to side, up and down) I feel a little okay knowing that a 7.2 didn't do any damage to San Diego.
I miss California so much. Beautiful weather and the occasional earthquake surprise. We don't experience anything like that here in Las Vegas NV. We don't even get rain anymore.

The reason why we are SO paranoid is because earthquakes are unpredictable. It can start as a little rolling motion and can become 100 times worse. You never know with them. There are chances of the aftershock being a magnitude higher by 1 than the original earthquake. So.. for example.. if you're in a store like these guys.. and the earth starts shaking.. people try and run away, because it can get WAY worse. So, that's why we are so scared.

I was 7 years old when I the 1989 SF quake. I will never think any earthquake is fun, I don't care how small.

@BrendaWayy Check USGS. San Diego didn't have one at all. The earthquake wasn't exactly in Calexico either. It was farther down but Calexico was one of the cities that felt it the strongest.
I totally understand the body effect of this quake that hit.. It was crippling almost. We were in La Mirada at the time however normally I am closer to SD were in temecula area.. your so funny btw love this video!

I must be against this. I mean you seem really nice and everything but getting famous on a natural disaster where a city did not even feel the actual magnitude of the quake does not make sense. Trust me, if the 8 freeway has collapsed on these LA and SD videos, then I probably would embed this and post it everywhere, but nothing happened. i was in a store in tijuana, and the same the floor move a little bit up and down, and, i felt it before some people that was there 2, i was telling them, is an earthquake, and they didnt realize. I as u we forgot to film, because the first thing that cross ar minds, Is "IS IT REALY SHAKING" ANd then when we realize, we try to find a safe place, instead of grab a camara and film. so its normal.

It's crazy that Haiti's earthquake wasn't much bigger than the SoCal one yet they had sooo much more damage. We are lucky to live in the country we do.
@leaharagon Haiti had more damage because it happen somewhere where buildings weren't built as well and their earthquake's epicenter happen in an area surrounded by other cities/towns. The Baja California one pretty much happen in the desert where there weren't very many towns. The depth of an earthquake can also make it worse. I hope this helps. =)

I like earthquakes (small ones). I was only 5 when there was the big 1989 earthquake (6.9). Since then (I stopped so long ago), I would play Earthquake (go under my kids' table I think, and say "Earthquake").

It's crazy that Haiti's earthquake wasn't much bigger than the SoCal one yet they had sooo much more damage. We are lucky to live in the country we do.

@leaharagon Haiti had more damage because it happen somewhere where buildings weren't built as well and their earthquake's epicenter happen in an area surrounded by other cities/towns. The Baja California one pretty much happen in the desert where there weren't very many towns. The depth of an earthquake can also make it worse. I hope this helps. =)

WACK!!!! You should see the real footage of the Easter Earthquake in Mexicali and in the Imperial county. Makes this video look suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper WACK!!! Go ahead and find actual footage! This aint nothing! I feel awkward since this little shake in San Diego made you all nervous, LOL, imagine if you would have been over here where it hit the worst. I feel like you might have fainted. Another thing, San Diego did not have a 7.2 earthquake. You should correct that.

I like earthquakes (small ones). I was only 5 when there was the big 1989 earthquake (6.9). Since then (I stopped so long ago), I would play Earthquake (go under my kids' table I think, and say "Earthquake").

i was in my home in san diego watching some videos on youtube when it happened, and when me and my parents got out i saw other people come out but surprisingly i didnt feel the earthquake when i got out nobody did but there was a scratch on the building when we got outside(i live in a apartment
