Surfing in Japan's Ocean Dome

@bmxretracked I think they can pump out double over head with a solid face! I read somewhere that the normal day-to-day wave was only 40% of what the system could actually do.

it was closed not because there are not enough surfers in japan (cuz there definitely is) it was closed cuz the thing was huge and the pumps and stuff cost way to much.

i think it closed down because they werent making enough money because japanese people don't surf that much

Yes, unfortunately the Dome was closed officially on October 2007 :(

@surferdude4261 I believe in the beginning they actually allowed people to surf, but later made it a show and everyone had to exit the water and eventually it closed due to lack of revenue.

the beach right next to the ocean dome is nothing like this so i would rather go tot he ocean dome

that place was awful! and it costs a fortune to do what they did in this Vid,

Miyazaki is dying and the ocean dome was amputated.
