His Splash cymbals are put the dumbest place i've ever seen. And also, he's about a quarter note to slow in spots. And your bass drum betas aren't correct. The bass drum goes, quarter, eigth, quarter, quarter. Not quarter, quarter, quarter, quarter.

No kind of foam or acoustic devices help with sound proofing, sound proofing has to do with the construction of the room, such as insulation, drywall, etc, you need to rebuild the whole room to properly sound proof a room, and then you can add foam or 'egg carton's' to deaden the sound...

Egg carton does not to much for sound proofing, but it does help reduce ambient echoes. Those walls look like concrete, and they reflect alot of cymbal highs. The egg carton should help reduce it.

Just a quick reply, you do not necessarily have to use a "drumless" song track. I'd be interested in finding those too to do drum covers to but it can be done well to the original track drums and all..... just sayin'.

FYI, egg crates make great sound insulation and have been used as such for years by studios. I thought the bass drum work was fine. Easy song . . . but there's an art to playing simple.
