  • I love Steve Howe, one of the best and most versatile guitarists ever. Yes was by far my favorite band in the 70s (high school for me). Still- Rabin is an excellent guitarist, and a much better vocalist than Howe. Yes is a different band with Rabin, but still excellent.

  • Howe plays with much more emotion than Rabin--Rabin's a ripper, no doubt, but kind of a one trick pony. Yes needed him to stay relevant through the 80s, no doubt. But Howe is much more varied and interesting. Check out Masquerade, or The Clap. Or his work on Starship Trooper--great stuff.

  • @noheadphones I don't agree at all. Rabin is a master composer and the guitar skills of Howe are high when we talk about acoustic guitar. But when it turns to electric, this guy (Howe) is boring as to dance cheek to cheek with my sister...

  • @Minimoogman

Rabin has amazing skill, but lacks soul. You can't practice enough to get that--you have it or you don't. Rabin has incredible technical prowess too. I just think Howe has more soul and originality.

  • @noheadphones Listen to CAN'T LOOK AWAY from TR and you will be amazed about how bigger is his soul compared to SH's.

  • @noheadphones What objective criteria do you base your claim that Rabin lacks souls and does not play with the same emotion as Steve? Also, what do you base your claims that Trevor is a one trick pony? How much of his pre-Yes, Yes and post Yes material have you actually listened to?

If you are trying to make the case that Trevor can only play one style of music, you have proven that you dont know Trevor's playing.

  • I think Trevor Rabin is brilliant and added a definite something to Yes when they needed it. At the same time, RESPECT for Steve Howe. Musos of my gen can remember him turning guitar playing on its ear in a genuinely original way and setting the standards that others like Rabin followed and developed in their own ways. Setting them up in some kind of dogfight demeans both their great work. Leave it!

  • @WorkingThemAngels It would have been really cool to see how they would have worked together long term. I also would have like to have seen Trevor and Eddie Jobson togther for a tour, but it never worked out. Jobson is awesom yet his yes career is limited to about 2 seconds on the owner of a lonely heart video. He would have blown away Tony Kaye and was best keyboardist I ever saw live.

  • Everyone falls in love with Trevor Rabin!

That's why Steve Howe hates him so much.

I'm an 'old skool Yes-fan' but even I prefer Trevor.

Trevor Rabin is the guy who basically saved Yes and made them known to a whole new generation of fans.

Some people say that the direction that he took was way too commercial but I think that's not a bad thing at all!

Everyone knows Yes is a talented band (unlike todays 'commercial bands') so they should stop complaining and appreciate Trevor's input!!

  • @MrDunkJunk OMG! You made my day! LOL! Trevor is the superhero of Yes (Hope he appreciates my analogy since he now scores some very awesome superhero movies! :D) He took a nearly obsolete band that had officially announced its dissolution after it had lost its passion & creative spark, as well as relevance, & reinvgorated it with artistry, innovation, fresh ideas, endless creative scope & vision with each song, tour, & album charting new artistc territory from 90125 through to Talk..

  • @MrDunkJunk to a new generation of fans & a much wider international audience. So many of Trevor's songs, "Shoot High Aim Low", "Hearts", "Endless Dream", "Where Will You Be", & more were not commercial at all & greatly artistic, meaningful songs of substance. As for the commercial songs or "pop"...Why is it that when The Beatles or Michael Jackson did pop..it was considered landmark songcraft & artistic music defining a generation or era..but when Yes did pop/rock, people grumble?

  • @MrDunkJunk Rabin saved nothing. He merely stepped in and helped re-invent them, destroying their progressive roots in the process. He's one dimensional. Ever hear his acoustic solos? Dreadful 3rd year monstrosities.

  • Best concert ever...!

  • And, I was there! I have loved these guys since I was a kid and have seen them several times - with all the additions and subtractions. This show was a dream.

I forgot how screwed up the light techs were.

  • Trevor Rabin is a bad fucking dude!

  • @SANTORIOBUSTANUT Indubitably!

  • @4:28; I didn't know that David Spade played with Yes??!

  • I wish Kaye got a proper solo like Wakeman .

  • @WorkingThemAngels Lol Wakeman had a stroke of gayness.

  • Ahh The Sweet Bliss of Yes's Vibrations of Power !

  • it looks like chris squire is in slow motion in this video.

  • This DVD is gonna be AMAZING!!!!!!!\

  • ............. Trevor ..................

  • Trevor & Jon have been writing together for a planned project with Rick! Hmmm! Whatever it is, a record, live shows, count me in! Anderson, Rabin & Wakeman! Gonna be super sick & full of creative genius! :D

  • @arweiss100 I SECOND THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @WorkingThemAngels Rick and Trevor got on very well on that tour...then they've become friends...Trevor later played on Rick's Return to the Centre of the Earth.

  • Yes & the always amazing Trevor Rabin, 1991 Denver, Live In Concert, Union Tour, on a dazzling & incredible version of "Changes". Listen to the crowd go wild for Trevor at his guitar solos 1:22-1:46 & 2:22-2:30..which are orchestrated suites, (you can really hear his classical influence that he now illustrates in his film scores). Then his sublime vocals color this song..such an impassioned performance from Trevor..and the entire band on all cylinders.

  • @ultrakev9 hahahahahahaha!!!!

  • @ultrakev9 - I remember seeing that years ago and think that. :)

  • really awesome tour and amazing reunion.

    thanks for this great footage..

WHERE are bands like this TODAY??

i believe they're out there... SOME where - we're just not hearing them because of the corporate label stronghold - only signing mainstream garbage

  • Best live version IMO. Entire band's musicianship is outstanding and Trevor imbues both his singing and guitar playing with power, electricity and impassioned emotion. Gorgeous....

  • YES ....

    SEEMS LIKE THAT !
