  • Thank you Father!

  • Thank Father and Mother.. Merry Always

  • Just scary.....

  • This the one Jim Jones of Jonestown spent a lot of time with?

  • Yes,it is.The exact same one. This the one Jim Jones called 'Father'.

  • WOW this dude cracked hell wide open father divine smh

  • father divine was also an insane leader who believed he was god, brainwashed his followers, and raped the females in his cult.. 2 of which happen to be my grandmother, and my great grandmother. he was a very very sick man.

one more thing, one of the ladies in the picture is my great grandmother..

  • Purple:Thanks so much for sharing..my heart goes out to you!Question..were your Grandmother & Great Grandmother 'secretaries' or officials in the movement,or just 'followers'? And did your family break free from Divinism? If so,how & when? And how & why did they first get involved with it?

  • Religion is dope, that's why many get hooked..........

  • You want to make this dead man a god, go right ahead, most people make men gods, its not new to me.

  • His own people let it out that he was. He had children with some of the young girls that attended his church. Search it out, if you can, there was a cover up, as usual. A man who thought he was god, was way off the base. The people who held him up were like the people of the Jones town massacre.

  • I subjectively agree, but i have not come across 'hard' evidence to support it.I do know, factually, that he & Jim Jones were more alike than not.

  • sorry, I misunderstood your intention. I just flash backs about religion has done to the many families who lived in NYC. Many of the children were taken away from there parents and sent to "Home's", catholic torture convents.

  • this man was a pedophile

  • evidence?

  • ask the kids he had and deserted. Find them and they will tell you what this man did to their Mothers. young girls too.....

  • I'm not challenging you,i was asking for additional documentation to substantiate your statement above.

  • I'd say look into the files at the Stromberg museum in Harlem, they have a lot of history of Harlem NYC, back in the 30's 40's 50's.

  • Thanks. What i know about Father Divine is that several court cases were brought against him & his followers for child neglect & abuse at various Peace Mission extenctions in the 1930's.

  • Also, that high level defectors from the movement in the 30's & 40's,Secretaries & former Divine staff members John Hunt & Carol Sweet & former Peace Mission administrator Faithful Mary alleged sexual abuses including pedophilia by Divine towards female followers.

  • Yes, there's a lot of truth that has gone away with time. We must never let them do to children what they have done, just like Hitler, we must stand up and tell it like it was!, thkx for your support.

  • It is a fact that Father Divine met with a young preacher from Indiana in 1957 and was a great influence on him. His name was Rev. Jim Jones.

  • I know. But Jim Jones' actions do not reflect Father Divines intentions. Jones was a sick, drug addicted man, paranoid that the world was out to get him.

  • The only fifference between Father Divine & his disciple Jim Jones was time, place & emphasis. The Peace Mission has for 70 years been doing slowly what the Peoples Temple did all in one afternoon...die out in Unity under the teachings & exhortation of one they recognize as "God".

  • Yes your right...I remember the news papers back in the day. Harlem was divided between religion and the suffering commiunity, so he sold "Pie's", to eat. Like the Queen who said "Let them eat cake"

  • @TheZenTurtle Exactly! Its always those who don't know anything with a hidden agenda who try and slander the greatness that was FATHER DIVINE!

  • @RobGoth100 This is NOT the fact you are trying to spin it to be!

  • It funny how people speak who know NOTHING of what they speak about. Father Divine is a modern hero and contributed much to the welfare of tens of thousands of people. If you understood the teachings of NEW THOUGHT you would understand the meaning of ONENESS and why we can say I AM GOD! Bless you Father.

  • u r kidding right?

  • Jesus is Lord to the glory of God. This man you called father divine was never God. Repent of your sins in the name of Jesus and recieve Jesus as your Lord and Savior so that you won't go to Hell and face eternal damnation. I love you with the Love of Jesus Christ; the one and true Living God.

  • *I* don't think Father Divine was God, so I repent for nothing. As a matter of fact, I also don't believe Jesus was the Son of God, it's just as ridiculous of a story if you ask me. So why don't *you* go ahead and repent for the "sin" of pushing your ideologies on other people who don't believe in the same as you.

  • That's right, he is not a god, nor are we in the presences of one.

  • @TheZenTurtle Then you have no concept of god at all. And i don't buy into that lil g big G business. He took care of people and was a man of his word. What could be more godly or christ-like.

  • @Mr. Legal111 Then you have no concept of god at all. And i don't buy into that lil g big G business. He took care of people and was a man of his word. What could be more godly or christ-like.
