  • Neato! I saw Felix's 500th professional concert. I think he was 16 at the time. I was blown away then and he's only gotten better.

  • confidennis writes : Felix, you are awesome! Keep it up my dear friend.

  • Felix is playing the Fugue in D Major S.532, which was based on the earlier one by Pachelbel.

  • Wonderful playd! Almost perfect. Yes, Bach changes our lifes. But he also needs discipline - and you gave that! Thank you very very much.

  • What a virtuoso! The hall used to be called "North Hall", and long ago we rehearsed the Peabody orchestra there, did student composer readings, etc. (Yes, I am from Peabody, too). BTW, Mr. Hell is performing ALL the works of Bach soon over a short period of time. Read it in the JHU magazine...

  • felix is my friend hes really nice he can do this amazing magic trick its awsome i use to take lessons with him ya i play organ dont mind the name notre dame is what i have my eyes set on

  • note to self: SO much information in this clip - epic awsomeness!!! remember!

  • sorry accidently clikcked 2/5 Omeant 5/5, Excellent Video.

  • hey felix its eric you know eric garner im on my friends account can you give my dad a call he wants to talk oh ya ive bin to over 20 of felixes concerts hes the nicest guy you could meet he seems like bach i bet hes a dicendent

  • I met felix today. Real nice guy.

  • Bravo!

  • This is my all time favorite Bach Fugue. I would have loved to hear the Prelude too. Also would have loved to hear a performance straight through without the talking.

  • Ah! You, too, can hear Felix play "all the way through". (a la Heimsburger, see comment re Salt Lake City). Visit his website and plan your life around his concerts like so many of his groupies! Looking forward to seeing you there...no matter where. Heim! a chihuahua?

  • Wow,An amazing performance. He has a very interesting take on the Fugue. I never thought of this particular fugue as being "a dance". Unlike Bachs D major "Gigue Fugue" BWV577... He also plays Boellmanns Suite Gothique very well.

  • wow.great musician.he is phrasing with the entire room,space,universe..

  • I went to a concert of his. He was an amazing guy! He has so much talent!!!!

  • You're playing faster on the beginning than a middle bars:)

  • who cares if hes playing faster

  • Either way Felix is an incredible performer, and I feel very fortunate to have been able to watch and listen to him play in concert on my organ!

  • One of the Greatest organists of our time! I tried learning this piece a while ago, I just kept thinking to myself 'How on Earth did Felix play the pedal part on these horrible pedals?'. I think part of what makes playing this particular piece so hard on my organ is the console, we definitely need a new one... it's 65 years old and falling apart! Also the placement of the console isn't the best, I'd preffer that the console didn't have a wall against the back and left side of the bench!

  • A very thoughtful and intellectual performer...his playing has the stamp of great affinity for and identification with the music. Very good. BWV 532b is one of my favorite fugues.

Such a virtuosic, beautiful piece and performance..."refreshment of the soul" indeed. And I like his understanding of Bach's deep and abiding spirituality.

  • Refreshment of the soul indeed. Thank you.

  • Totally worth the 2,000-mile journey to the Salt Lake City Tabernacle to hear this musician. He may already be the greatest organist in the world. At least six standing ovations over the course of the recital from organ enthusiasts and music lovers. Wow!

  • just heard Felix in Salt Lake City playing the Mormon Tabernacle Organ. His feel moved faster than my Chihuahua's...he plays so effortlessly and perfectly. The recital crowd gave 6 standing ovations...and justifiably so. Wow!

  • Felix is such an incredible musician, keep kickin ass baby!

  • And all that to an empty hall in the last shot! Wonderful, Felix. :D

  • Is it not wonderful that there are people in the world who keep this type of music alive.

This man is a phenomenon. He combines a pleasant personality with virtuosity and musical interpretation that - to me - is mind blowing.

  • I also know of a great organist by the name of Daniel Roth. He is much older than Felix Hall.

  • I really like this organ.

  • I am also into Bach. There is a man who is much older than you are who plays an organ that was popular around Bach era. His name is Daniel Roth. But the way he handles the organ is like if he was in his 20s.

  • Very well done Felix!!!! You have an amazing talent!!! I am eagar to see the finished product. Michael from Maine, USA

  • Gar nicht schlecht, maestro!

Es freut mich sehr, dich auf dem internet zu hören. Ich hoffe alles bei dir gut geht!

  • Yay Felix! :)

  • This is going to be awesome! Thanks Michael.

  • The video is fantastic...when's the entire film? I had to view more than once, having just seen/heard the same fugue played by a different, renowned organist. And I have reaffirmed that the rhythm, registration, and musicianship displayed here is superb. Brilliant! once again, Felix Hell.

  • Nice! Where's the instrument?

  • Peabody Institute in Baltimore

  • A typically stunning performance by one of the world's great organists. Bravo!
