  • Nice compilation.

  • "Donnie Yen will Yip Man."

  • great stuff!

  • that kid was so cute in the film

  • Has anyone seen the movie? OMG. fighting is good, but it's so historically inaccuarate it'll make you cry. ex; a cop pulls a gun on Yip Man, he sticks his finger in the trigger guard and disarms it.

real life; he was a cop and did this to a robber. And this was the most accurate thing in the movie. One problem with the fighting; there was no simultaneous attack & defense. Sad, really.

  • yes thats what people wanna see when going to the movies, to see a documentary

  • Not a documentary, but maybe just the truth once in a while. That'd be nice.

  • tru dat

but haven't you learnt your lesson from the movie 'the dragon' with jason scott lee

im' sure thats full of shit too

but at least this has REAL martial arts and it shows how much the chinese suffered, very touching

  • You've got a point about Dragon, but the chinese suffer in fist of fury, and lots of shaoling movies that show the japanese invaders. They could've shown more of his life after the war, when he starts to teach again, etc...

  • they are currently making the sequel for yoru exact word for word description of what you wanted to see

    :)

  • Thanks for the info, good to know!

  • By the way..for ur knowledge..Part 2 and Part 3 is coming....Why the rush?..Everything has a beginning ain't it?

  • TheScytheoofgod...Ru in Wing Chun?..How far do u understand my great grandmaster is still a question to all of us...U have to fully understand the art before jumps to the conclusion...my friend...

  • Your great grandmaster? I've read every book about him I could find, studied wing chun under 4 sifu. My grandmaster is William Cheung, and if you study wing chun in America, Yip Man is pretty much everybody's grandmaster. And what's with the term great grandmaster? It's not a parental term like grandfather, great grandfather, etc...I dislike that. And since I don't want enemies I've never met, I'll hit you back and discuss this privately... my friend.

  • Comment removed

  • The Term of Great Grandmaster?..Rule No 1:Respect your masters like ur own blood...Dislike is not my business,,but disrespect the true way of respect it is...

    By the way..William Cheung?..I see...

Last thing..Respect Donnie Yen as he respects Ip Man.....My friend...

  • Anyway..Bud...Hit and to be hit back is the way we live isn't it?LOL....Throughout the end....My Wing Chun Brother...Peace...

  • there must be a base before you learn different styles for example after attaining instructor level wc, i started bjj and plan on dong krav maga after

  • with regards to studying different styles i understand that one can study many different styles and end up not being good at anything but you should remember that many of the great styles came from studying and integrating different systems, for example W/Chun is said to have taken the best of diff shaolin systems, Ueshiba created aikido from other arts, Helio Gracie modified traditional j.jitsu. Bruce Lee and JKD, to name just a few...

  • i would like to learn WC....i train in Ninjutsu....muay thai and now taekwondo...and alil of brazilian Capoeira....but i just like the way WC shifts there elbows and go in a direct line....

  • 5 stars!

  • Wing Chun is one my styles that I've studied and still practice. Donnie Yen is one of my favorite Martial Arts actors, and Yip Man rocks because He's from Leung Jaan's lineage, and he's Bruce Lee's Wing Chun instructor, and Bruce Lee is my number one favorite Martial artist. Yes these are some great combinations. Cannot wait at all.

  • what other styles have you studied? O__O

  • I studied Hung Gar, Wing Chun, Choy Lei Fut, Some Tae Kwon Do, Some Muay Thai, Tai Chi, Some throws from Judo, I also do American Boxing. Know one Shoalin kung fu and Karate form, but did not like it much.

  • which one did you find the most effective? and favourite?

  • I can't really say I have a favorite one or one that I think it's the most powerful. I use the techniques that suits the situation. Are you interested in learning? Or do you already learn a style.

  • oh ahah i'm studying wing chun at yjr moment =]

just wanted to see other opinions

    thanks for asking anyways lol

  • which 2 arts did you enjoy the most?

  • If I had to pick two arts I would have to pick Wing Chun and Tai Chi. Yeah I said Tai Chi. I'm more of a fighting guy and to me these are really useful in fight, but I also move around like a boxer. Yes Tai Chi is pretty useful in fighting, do not be fooled. Then if what art I like to use for wushu perfromance I would have to go with Choy Lei Fut and Tai Chi.

  • you'd be Tai Chi over boxing?... i've never seen the effectiveness of Tai Chi in a fight or even sparring.

  • Yeah I like boxing but I got alot of handworks in Wing Chun, yeah I do mix,but Tai Chi is pretty violent than it seems. I fought a lot before, but they aren't official. So it's like a controlled street fight.

  • hurrah for people who understand the capabilities of taiji :)!

  • How can you study so many different arts and know what to use at specific fighting situations? that's bullshit.

  • you better watch yourself before you comment. I fight a lot, but I won't say I'm the perfect fighter, and I'm not restricted to one particular style. My main styles are Wing Chun, Tai Chi, Choy Lei Fut, and Hung Gar. basically chinese kung fu, but I also learn some techniques from other arts. Those are not my main style, but that doesn't mean that I should exclude it in a fight. I don't say I know all, but I apply all that I learn as much as possible.

  • I just don't see how you can mix Wing Chun with other hard styles, I just don't, I had to unlearn Karate when I first started WC, that's why my comments, I didn't mean to offend.

  • Well none offense taken. We are all martial artist, and we are all unique. I started with Wing Chun before I went to some Karate, but did not finish Karate. I don't know how I mix it in a fight, but it just comes. I'm just curious. What other styles did you learn?

  • I took Goju Ryu karate, but WC is bya far a better art in my opinion.

  • How can u mix external with internal...you can't never do that...internal uses the leas amount of muscle strength to provide jing, and for external its the complete opposite, your body will not be able to function correctly for eithier.

  • when yip man fight with Japanese?

  • Donnie Yen. the 1 reason i exist on this earth. CANNOT WAIT!!

  • so hes ur daddy ? =)

  • something like that lmfao

  • when is it gonna be out?

  • oooooooooooo!!!! man cant wait i studied wing chun for two years but still practice what i know.this is going to be a awesome movie.

  • man i cant wait for trhis film.
