I know many who watch this video are Christians. To those, I leave my comment here: does Christ, do you think, support such demeaning and unforgiving laws--laws that would mark a person as a leper? How did Christ view the leper? How did Christ view the prostitute? How did Christ view those who would punish and revile and reject the lowest person--those who would cast a stone? I submit that the laws are anti-Christian, and that many of those victimized are reformed followers of Jesus.

As usual, politicians respond to the hysteria by overdoing it. There is a massive difference between a child molester and this situation. These laws need to be changed NOW!
My son is in this same situation - prison and a life ruined at age 18. Please help us and educate others that not all "sex offenders" are chronic child molesters and rapists - in fact, very few are. We need REASON in our laws - not mindless ongoing punishment.

There's a difference between teen love as seen above, between a man who truly believes someone is of age after meeting at a bar to later find out they were tricked and they committed a crime while being lied to and between a real sex offender who's looking to commit a crime and who's seeking minors. There's a difference PEOPLE!!!
So many lives ruined! My Mom was 16 when she met my Dad. They were married for 37 years when he passed away. And to think with today's laws that he would have been a sex offender! What hass happened to society??
This is the only crime in which you serve your time, go through all the necessary therapies, yet are left unforgiven and lose your human rights forever. Wake up America, there are pre-teens and teens on this list! Do you really believe they deserve a life sentence? Stripped of all their human rights?

I do not think that the law is always just, and it needs reform. I do not think the laws surrounding sex offenders prioritize reform. Reform and children's safety should be the priority. However, to say it's simply a cash making scheme of the govt is ridiculous! The 19 year old with the 16 year old girlfriend, not the point of the law. There are real sex offenders. There are real children who need protection. Really.
And you really haven't been sitting on the other side as the family of an RSO who is caught up in this over zealous CASH MAKING SCHEME OF THE GOVERNMENT. So you think this protects kids? Talk to my kids. Ask them why they are having to homeschool and live in an RV because people like you harass children who's father is an RSO. His crime? He touched the CLOTHED boob of a 15 yr old when he was 19 - found out her age before anything beyond that happened & sent her home. She got mad... He's branded.
