I loved her bit on all the restrictions on the casual Friday dress code. I worked for a company that had hats made with their logo, so I wore the hat to the all-company morning meeting on Friday and during the meeting I noticed that everyone was staring at me, I figured it was because I was new to the company and no one knew me yet. After the meeting a supervisor approached me and, almost in a whisper, told me that hats aren't allowed. WTF? Offices are just stupid insane...
Since she worked with Deep Space 9 promotion I'm going to assume "the quickening" is a reference to the Star Trek episode rather than the Highlander movie.
awesome....i love it when a female comedian has diversified material , and not stickin to their stupid norm of pickin on celebrities and some stupid jokes about shopping or jus tryin to be really vulgar to get a few laughs from some horny drunks sittin in the back row, maria bramford is a class act...
Maria Bamford is by far one of the most original female comedians I've ever seen. Her and Sarah Silverman, anyways. I've never seen any comedians (male or female) like either of those.
This is SO true. I hated when I was working in an office and people would say shit like "they should make a sitcom out of this place!" I suppose it would have made better television than "According to Jim".
Oh dude, this is a clip of *THE* show of her's that introduced me to Bamford. It's on her 3" CD that was sold at the Comedians of Comedy tour. The "office" stuff won me over, especially the bit right after this where she talks about her arch-nemesis Vanette. Is the whole thing out there on video?
haHAAAAAA!!!! She's genius! Empress of Comedy!

The reason "The Office" is the greatest office comedy ever is that it verges on depressing 90% of the time. I wish more people got that.
knifeofspaghetti 4 years ago 10
Dude, exactly. People who act like the hugest Office fans act totally clueless when I mention how depressing it is.
VidJourn 4 years ago 5
Like, the original British version was hilarious, but it was still more depressing than it was hilarious. You can just feel their souls congealing.
