  • During the 1880s through the 1960s this stuff was used as fill dirt in public housing, schools, etc. Also public housing was constructed on or near landfills and wetlands where these chemicals were dumped. Today, public housing is being demolished under HUD. HOPE VI is actually the toxic housing demolistion fund.

  • Of course, I am joking, I did not think my comment could be taken seriously for such a tragedy. We have a power plant nearby and our local paper did a wonderful article on the emissions. I wonder if the general public cares, where is the outcry to stop polluting?(aside of the environmentalists)? The Mt. Tom Power Plant is spending 57 million to reduce emissions. You are right there is no such thing as "clean coal"!
