  • any triple lutz tips??

  • i just landed this last week for the first time!!! best christmas present ever :D

  • I'm always messing up my lutz :P

  • It's from FS 5. so is the axel!

  • @natasha281996 actually it's from freestyle 6

  • @ProudBudgieOwner2 oh ok, yea, i do usafs where we do not have freestyle levels. thanks for the clarification

  • @natasha281996 no probb

  • charlie yes its from 5

  • good jump. the explanation of how to do the jump was horrendous though.

  • is the lutz from freestyle 5?

  • i just perfected this jump :)

  • that jump is so much fun to do . :)

  • you must reply to marilena ! !!!!!!

  • wow... I have the same jacket, and its the only one I ware when I go ice skating... Crazy!

  • ciao :) una persona di 20 anni in quanto tempo impara a fare un doppio lutz?

  • Following my dreams! I'm gonna skate. No matter what.

  • why she didn't cross her legs? not that it's not nice. just wondering

  • @camiheartzacnskating cos u don't reli need to cross for single jumps, u only need to pull in for axel/doubles and above to get the rotation. even on axel if u get enough height, u don't reli need to pull in that tight - more height, slower rotation=easier to land :)

  • Can someone tell me how to turn OFF the freaking stupid captions that I don't need? Please help!!

  • Actually this is a pretty nice single lutz. Better instruction info on this video compared to some of the others.

  • I thought a lutz was prefaced by a three turn?

  • @deeprose4 you might be thinking of the FLIP jump. Lutz usually takes off from a long back outside edge just like the video demonstrates or a short mohawk turn to often help disguise the inability to hold that back outside edge properly. With the new judging system, that maneuver might get an "edge call".

  • @RizReyes ahhh, thanks. I always get jumps confused that start with a pick into the ice. Doesn't matter much, because currently I can barely do toe loop!

  • @deeprose4 Thats a flip.

  • @MichaelJacksonFan86 just shut up and learn to watch with attention

  • ... That looked really awkward...

  • ...isn't she supposed to cross her legs like in an axel? That's the way everyone in my skating club was taught. It just looks awkward otherwise. .___.

  • y does expert village haveto make every thing so akward and boring -_-

  • Wow! That was amazing!

  • Felin12, No, you cannot enter it just like a Waltz Jump.

A Lutz jump is from a Left Backwards Outside Edge!! A Waltz jump is from a Left FORWARD Outside Edge!!!!

    argh..

  • i would have liked to see more height, and there was a change of edge going into that right before the take off. that would probably be a deduction... =/ Also, you would not be able to get a proper double lutz off of that take off = /

i don't think this is "Advanced" considering it is one of the 6 basic jumps you learn (Waltz, Salchow, Toeloop, Loop, Flip, Lutz). If it was a Double Lutz, I would consider it "Advanced" hahah

  • i ice skate and thats not the lutz i learned.

  • this is too easy

  • my last name is Lutz! awesome, i just have to learn the jump now! :P

  • i landed my lutz the first try a long time ago, when i was about 12 or 13. all i know is it isnt that hard once you can do the half lutz like a 6th sense.

  • do u crossover your legs like in axel b.c in this video she doesnt? i figured i ask u since u know how to. :D im just learning it

  • actually you can not that would be a deduction because thats not even a lutz

  • I can do one, it's just that I pick the ice and I stay there for like too long. It's almost like I put my toepick on the ice, and then gather strangth for the jump. So obviously with some practice i can get it right. :) Working on my axel as first-priority

  • DAMN SHES HELLA GOOD.

  • i can do the full one

  • that seemed so easy

    I can do the half-lutz

I can almost do the full one

  • same! the half lutz is so easy compared to this, but im almost on this. i hope i can get it by the end of june/mid-july

  • yeah

I can do a flip though but not a lutz yet

  • what the heck that was fricken teribble!!!!

  • ooo yeah can u make me a video about you doing a lutz jump??? thanks

  • lol r you seriouse this is the video do you know what a lutz is?

  • i think she was joking haha

  • I don't understand the difference between the different toe jumps. They all look the same. What's the difference between the outside edge and inside? What should I be looking for that I'm missing?

  • To answer your question about the edges. The outside edges is the right side of your right foot and the left side of your left food. They're facing outside of your body. The inside edges are the left side of your left foot and the right side of your left food and are facing inside... I hope that makes sense... O_o

  • the toe jumps do not look different but they are very different. the main and only differences are the timing, the edge and the entry. the timing for a lutz is look look up reach back jump where as the timing for the flip is present push turn pick jump. also the edges are incredibly different it is much harder to rotate on a lutz because you take off the opposite way of the jump which makes it a lot harder because of the twist. whereas in a flip you rotate the same way. i hope this helps.

  • do you have to cross your feet in a lutz and a toe loop?

  • beautiful jump and to all skaters... follow your dreams

  • i sure will :D

and im never going to give up on my figure ice skating classes! even if i fall.

  • Will you be demonstrating more advanced jumps? I'd love to get some tips for a double and triple lutz.

  • those are cutbacks but it doesnt really matter and anyway some coaches call it lift overs crossovers cut backs and slide over it doesnt m

    atter!!!

  • haha i find it funny that people are arguing over whether they were crossovers or cut backs

since thats not actually what this pparticular video was meant to demonstrate.

    anyways it was great.

  • i cant tell if u do one full turn or a half please sum 1 tell me

    cailey

  • full turn!

  • She did one full turn. A half-turn would be a half-lutz. :P Lol, kind of simple!

  • they are fer sure cutbacks

  • even though they said it was backward crossovers but it is actually a cutback if you see clearly. crossovers are when you LIFT you feet up to cross over but cutbacks are similar just that you dont LIFT your foot up to cross. hope that helps. (:

  • there cross overs

  • ur so stupid.....those r cutbacks not back croos overs....there different

  • they're crossOVERs. Trust me. I've been taking skating since I was 3.

  • Didnt u hear?

    they r crossovers!

    wat r cutbacks anyway?

  • Yup, crossovers. My daughter started out doing her crossovers by lifting her foot and crossing over. However, once she became better at doing crossovers, her coach taught her how to SLIDE her foot over instead of lifting it. From what I understand, that is an advanced back crossover.

  • how old is ur doughter? good luck 2 her im a junior skater maybe i will c her on one of my competition jk=)

  • She's 10 and not yet pre-pre. :-) She's learning pre-pre MIF and working on her single jumps. She has nearly all of them and is working on a flip and then a Lutz. :-) So she's not quite to your level yet! LOL

  • sweet thanx
