Canadian movies tend to not look as good as big budget american films since we don't throw a couple million behind every talking animal or micheal bay movie that comes along

Wyeth... thanks so much for your comment, not only is it spot on but it put a big smile on my face... the nasty truth is Cdn films (and "quality" has nothing to do with it) aren't even allowed to be shown in Cdn movie theaters... we had requests from all across Canada for our opening weekend and couldn't book more than 3 screens (and before people say is was b/c the movie sucked, they say NO without having seen it).

Watched it...Please save yourself a couple hours of trouble. This movie is really horrible...special effects suck...and the worst thing is the acting. Lots of canadian movies are starring the same pitiful actors. Please canada, step it up in the movie department.

Why does it seem like the majority moderately budgeted Canadian films are mellow dramas set 100 to 150 years ago, with the same slew of mediocre actors who do nothing else but appear in these films. To me there seems to be a definite lack of originality and progression as far as what is being produced, and it paints a very bland picture of Canada and our culture. Why can't there be a movie made in Canada without Canadiana and propagandized nationalism crammed down the throats of the viewer.

Looks like a great movie that will appeal to a wide audience especially retire Mounties who remember our glory years. I plan to travel from Ottawa to Toronto and spend a night in a hotel to see this movie
