  • Electric Cars I would buy. Chevy Volt. Nissan Leaf. Toyota Prius plug-in. Mitsubishi iMiev.

  • if they gave it to me for free id buy it

  • @youfja yea but who got smarter lol. the volt is so funny its like a bootleg prius.

  • is it just me or American auto industry started copying Japanese, in particular Honda. The resemblance is remarkable

    nice car by the way

  • that is because that design is the best aerodynamic design around. it makes the drag coeffiecent the beast.

  • Japanese learned from the U.S.

If your just a kid or under 50

    You would not understand

  • oh i understand alot and im only 11 I understand how an internal combustion engine works

  • Comment removed

  • And very smart :)

  • I love you VOLT

  • The news just said, this car will get 230 MPG

I got to see this. That would put GM right back on top

But I jot to see this

  • @youfja

That 230mpg is deceptive as it includes electricity into the mix and electricity is measured in kilo watt hours, not gallons.

  • If it's good as the EV1, than yes! Good looking indeed.

  • hes rong it can go to 600 miles with the genarator

  • rong?

  • that's a cool looking car i think i might get one when it comes out!!!!

  • Ok now you will say what about the coal that is burned to charge the car and I will say that we need to work on solar cells and renewable energy and we need to take down roadblocks and not put them up.

  • might as well spend $20,000 on a mustang and use the $20,000 you have left to buy the gasoline for 10-15 years and then sell the mustang.

  • Come on people we need to get behind the electric car, yes its a lot of money for now but we need to get the technology into play. As with the VCR and DVD players at the start $500 - $600 dollars and now you can get one for $30 bucks. Think about the money that has been spent to keep us hooked on oil. We will always need oil but we dont need to burn it to run around town.

  • Great! I can't wait for the future now that cars are being compared with DVD players...

  • @FluxCapacitor2008

excuse me but the volt uses more oil than using a traditional car just my the oil needed to create the batteries to run it, not to mention batteries DIE and need to be replaced, that's going to be one expensive repair bill i see in your future. also this thing cant go past 40 miles without needing a charge and having to rely on WHAT?! HMM?! that's right good ole oil! this car still burns oil buddy MORE than a fuckin muscle car. its a little thing called FACTS.

  • Why cant we be real and build a simple electric car with the basics for just $17,500? I mean a range of 200 miles on single charge is excellent enough.

  • jamesjohansen then don't buy this piece of shit. It's too good of a car for you.

  • it looks similar to honda civic

  • i really hope this car makes it! I want one!

  • GM=Government Motors

  • I am right and you're wrong.

If you say you're right and that I am wrong, I will reply and say that I am right and you're wrong.

  • Get rid of the chevy logo up front and put some damn yellow turn signals in th back for fucks sake.

  • prius might be ugly but bankruptcy is uglier

  • They need to make the car go just 20 miles pure electric and then use gas. This will cut the total cost of the car to the consumers and GM imo. Prius is just too fucking ugly for me, I am sorry but Toyota really needs to make the prius look better. 2010 prius looks ok but it's still ugly :(

  • toyota

  • go to California and all[90%] cars you see on the road are imports.

if you see a domestic make its an SUV i guarantee you

If the gas goes back up to $4 or even $5 and up these SUVs will be gone for good

  • I live in California and every single person on my street own a SUV. SUV will not be gone for good, just smaller in size. Plus, living in orange County-- pretty much people can afford the gas ( people that have the high end Hummers, Chevy,)

  • This is True i live near Fullerton in California and SUVs are not going anywhere! Yes there is alot of imports that is true

  • Any American who buys a foreign car right now is completely oblivious to the news.

  • hmmm lets try to sum this up, the volt could have been out years ago as the EV-1 when GM HAD money it could have competed with the prius and insight . Guess what foreign car i bought

  • The Technology had to be created first. You can't just "whip up" a car, especially one that had technology that didn't exist yet. And couldn't gave just added practicality to the Concept, because it was a brick in the wind tunnel. Let me guess, you bought a Prius. I hope you're happy knowing that's the exact reason why the economy is failing.

  • Not to mention the fact you just paid $22,500 PLUS for a Cobalt with an oversized Alternator.

I'd brag about that, too :).

  • You don't understand the tech that goes into this car.

  • I was speaking of the Prius.

  • The prius is a cobalt with an oversized alternator? I always thought it was a Yaris with a smart car engine.

  • That fits too :).

  • Well that's not true--- if GM didn't sell there patents to Toyota back in the 70's-- Toyota would not be in the position they are in and GM would be better off. I'm a Chevy owner and I will always continue to buy their products.

  • GM is making some good stuff! I want to get the 2010 Camaro SS, it has a powerful V8 which switches to only 4 cylinders to save gas and reduce CO2 emissions when in city traffic, on long highway stretches... but when you push on the accelerator all 8 cylinders kick in with it's 6.1 liter engine and fuel injected 420 horse powers!!!

I loved the 1969 Camaro SS and always wanted one, this new one is just pure genius and makes me very excited about a car, it is all about legacy and tradition.

  • GM might go kaput.

  • Reason more to buy American.

  • All the more reason to buy a vehicle that best suits your needs and not simply "Buy American Because". A product should stand on it's own merits. If it succeeds, it is truly superior to it's competition. Proping it up based on nationality is what has led to the Big 3 to stagnate and fall because they could take advantage of the publics patriotism by producing a status quo product.
