I'm a born Angeleno, and I rarely see people dress like this. Slim fit jeans, black sweater, and simple white sneakers. That's enough for me, I don't need to attract too much attention.

In my opinion, LA fashion is super casual, edging on don't give a fuck. But if you live near West LA (where many people in the video are from) it becomes more pretentious.

Most American's aren't like that. Most dress very simply and casually, and many Americans are in debt and can't afford nice clothes or free-time. This video was not accurate to the majority of America. It was taken in a place where there are many street-performers, so their style is aimed toward their shows.

The rest of America honestly isn't like that; I promise you. Most Americans dress very simply and very casually. It's only on the coasts and in parts of California that you get styles like that. Plus, that area is full of performers, so they're dressed for their shows.

Part of the reason why the country is having financial troubles right now is because of years of the 'Keeping Up With The Joneses' mentality. Always trying to one-up someone else. Always trying to live an unaffordable lifestyle. No, there's nothing wrong with dressing more simply at all.

my thing is - the way that you dress is the first indication of who you are when the world first sees you. "keeping up with the joneses " is for idiots , so i cant even relate to that. dressing common gets you treated like so - common.
