  • Malavern, you're so right. That made total sence. Why is it that we as a society have gotten so self absorbed, we can't appreciate the great buskers around us? Or at least drop a dollar or tenner into the bucket. Hell, I wish I was a music mogal, I'd give this guy a big contract in a second... then again people just don't want great music any more. They want their quick lyrical (crappy lyrical) fix from the Biebers and Simpsons of the world... I wish that people would take time to listen.

  • Its truly sad when nobody can recognize so beautiful and not stop and admire it and instead, just continue on with their dull and meaningless lives...

  • Holy Balls that guy is dang good

  • i saw him and i paid because HE IS COOL

  • 1:32 BRAVO! :D

  • dude i pay him so much money dude belongs on americas got talent anyday if you can seriously do that shit on a violin holy fuck makes guitar playing look like shit when hes playing! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK DUDE

  • Respect, man respect, I play the violin to, my primary instrument, and that show was just epic, keep going, your just plain awesome!!!!!

  • excellent, just another reason why i should take up violin as well

also, id ask him how long hes gona be, run back home to get my guitar and play along because that was epic

  • Well to some people. Playing violin is like playing a guitar, just with a bow.

  • lawl electric violin

  • this guy shouldn't be playing in the streets! He should be having his own concerts, HES AWESOME!

  • wah violin, nice

gets a thumbs up from me =)

  • I bet he also plays the guitar

  • He surely plays many instruments.

  • I'm amazed no one has stopped to watch, even if only for a minute!

Where are they all rushing off to? If you can spend a minute of yoru time to enjoy the world around you, then what's the point of continual existence? (i'm not sure if that made sense but... :p )

  • It couldn't make any more sense man...

  • i saw him at fulton the other day and there was a HUGE crowd around him =) maybe it's just the different locale

  • They are trying to keep their jobs, fool! There's a recession going on! ^:^

But seriously, know one knows what is truly in another's heart. Cant assume they don't care. But on average, someone doesn't. Mostly old men.

  • @Malavern i know its insane! my only guess is that they know that if they stop they would end up spending hours listening to him and give him altheir cash...idk just a thought lol

  • I knew that the violin is an awesome instrument but that is sick man and I am myself an musician!

  • God, how are people just walking by without watching? I would be amazed if I saw this.

  • I would be trying to touch him...

  • its New York

  • that was sick!

  • I would have given the man money for sure

  • o.k :-s

  • That was metal.

  • wow

  • My thought exactly.

  • why the fuck are people just walking past GIVE HIM MONEY!

  • I KNOW!!! For real. I would, if I had it. Or I'd at least stop.

  • why the drum ? =/

  • I've watched this tens of times and never even noticed it until you pointed it out, haha.

  • We need this in Toronto. I'd never get to work after lunch though, 'cos I'd be hangin' out in the subway station.

  • this dude obviously has money to aford an electric violin and amplifier >:-)

  • wow this guy is really good! it sounds like a violin on steroids! lol

keep up the cool tunes dude!

  • definitly the best way to use steroids :)

  • Do what your heart tells you to, getting a good career through education is very important in a very competitive world. BUT for heaven sake dont write derogatorive comments about someone with such an amazing talent that he must have developed through years of hard thought out practice. Im giving you a total stranger respect for wanting to better yourself, give him the same respect. The guy may get noticed one day like Vanessa Mae or Nigel Kennedy.

  • i was there one cold ass january day on 14th street i heard him play the man rocked

  • Title of song Shred, and what does he do? F'in shred it up. Personally one of my favorites of Shulman's work. Dang shame those people walking by probably have not a passing time of merriment on their daily subway schedule. I want to freakin fly over there and listen to Shulman live and i live all the way in Cali.

  • Awesome

  • Awesome

  • Is he wearing gloves and playing? Sounds great though

  • this guy is awesome.

  • I was there when he did this one he's so cool!

  • AMAZING!

  • this wha sucks but all in all good performance

  • Using a wah... I thought that would sound bad electric violin.

Here I am wronged by this, this 'video'. Pah.

  • It's odd at first listening to it, the distortion threw me off but once you get the hang of it it's really beautiful.

  • its annoying that everybody walks past... like he doesnt exist.... this is great music... all the people that walk by are idiots...

  • Why does everybody just walk past, Hardly anybody stops. F^&King stupid Americans.

    This guy is amazing.

  • hes good i saw him on 42nd street yesterday

  • Hey all!

Just wanted to let you know that it's me performing in this clip.

At the time I was working on a song for my upcoming "Pure Fire" band's recording. It's my own original composition and it was pretty much a rehearsal for me.

To quickly sum up the few comments/questions - I do like Buckethead and I was never in Toronto.

    Cheers!

    M

  • whoa. he fucking SHREDS. <33 love it. i think i've seen this guy in toronto once. or am i just imagining it?

  • Is it just me, or does a lot of this sound exactly like Soothsayer by Buckethead?

  • yep just you

  • Definitely just you:P

  • Very amazing. Gotta love the wah pedal. What model is it? This guy is very talented....it too bad everyone is in too much of a hurry to stop and listen....

  • His name is Michael Shulman. He has a myspace where you can hear "studio" versions of his songs. He's super cool and as you can hear fuckin' amazing.

  • no you wouldn't shut up

  • Murphyalex - It is Paganini's 21st (see poster behind the guy). :P

  • Ohh I didn't know I just he was talking about the idea of paganini in the 21st century, I didn't know it was refering to his 24 caprices etc, ta:) I'll go check it out now.

  • lol I think I am responsible for at least half of those thousand views, I have to listen to it every day, I couldn't get it out of my head even in a club, or going to bed, did he write this himself?

  • haha I know what you're saying, it's an addictive song.

  • man i love this ay

  • duuuude that is maddd sicklk

  • Electric Violin... what a twist.

  • damn, I'd love to hear a studio version of this song (or live even, how are the acoustics in a subway station anyway?)
