@DemonicXeno I'm one of those who played AvP 2 back then in 2002. Of course now its graphics are outdated but I still think its way better. Today the games have no spirit, don't demand anything from you. And I know why....because of consoles. very sad. Crysis was an exception. But, it was made for PC only!

I wouldn't necessarily say AvP2 is "way" better than AvP 2010. It's better for not being a primary console game that is ported to the PC. It has the advantages since modification tools and level editors were eventually released.

I just think that they really should not have made Primal Hunt expansion or maybe if they had made it, they should have released it as a 'free addon'. I mean it cost around 30 bucks just for 9 levels and small amount of new features and new maps? C'mon?

@ShaolinYautja lol yeah. That expansion was AWFUL! I only really liked the Alien campaign where you played the Predalien (or Praetorian?). That was quite okay actualy. Marine must have been the worst. It was nothing like the original game anymore...just run and shoot...no atmosphere lol

It's a Predalien. And you don't play as a Predalien for the 3 levels. The first level you have to find the right Pred to face hug, and the second level you are a chest burster trying to find a safe place to grow into a Predalien. it was a lame excuse they could have just made this short expansion for free instead of charging extra.

But look on the bright side, things could have been much worse had they never released any of the mod tools to make new maps, skins, and misc tweaks.

@ShaolinYautja True! I, myself, have had a lot of fun with DEdit. hehe. I'm not mapping for it "seriously" though. I'm mainly mapping for Serious Sam The Second Encounter (also a quite old game but fun). And yeah, the only missions I liked were when you were a grown Predalien and making your way through the Forward Observation Pod.

Didn't that game have co-op campaign support?

Sigh... If only AvP2 had received an expansion that support a co-op campaign. Til this day there hasn't been a single AvP game that focuses or offers a campaign that supports co-op other than Capcom's Arcade game, although that's a different story.

Almost everything was either limited a single player campaign or if co-op does get offered it's usually the same shit where players fight endless amount of dumb AI controlled Aliens -_-

The only reason why I would even show more than 5 minutes in Survivor Mode is the Praetorian fights. But that's about it. =)

I wished they would allow you to face Predaliens or Alien Queen in Survivor, but probably not possible to fight a Queen, since you confined and trapped in small location.

Also I think it would have been much more terrifying if they spawn some facehuggers and chest bursters mixed in with the drones once in a while.

Yea, since the Facehuggers cannot instantly kill the player unlike the previous AvP PC games. They still have a chance to resist it from coming onto their face.

I still think it would be fair. Hey, the Marine gets portable healing (finally) and regeneration system, so battling a PredAlien or the Queen would be awesome and epic for sure!

I think it makes most sense to increase the challenge by adding in Predaliens, Huggers, and the Queen when all 4 Players are in the game playing Survivor. It gets really dull facing endless waves of a few drones over and over then Praetorians after 5 minutes+ have gone past.

You can shake off face huggers again?

I would have added the special ability in co-op to save your comrades when they are struggling to get the damn thing off. Basically increase the chance of countering it.

So the stuttering issue is fixed then?

This is Survivor Mode. The stuttering happens in the Single Player portion for me, and I think I found the cause for that. It's the memory hole (yes even in DX9). Check your PM to see what I mean..
