@pyro5178 This show was trying to experiment with the format of Vale Tudo. I think the rules were meant to give the strikers a chance. But banning submissions was redundant, because the strikers were all already on one side of the bracket.

Erik Paulson was listed as a Jeet Kune Do fighter, which is why he was in the strikers bracket. Paulson vs. Renzo could've been a classic.

Renzo was lucky he didn't have to take on Vale or Bitonio. I believe Vale or Bitinio would've beat Renzo by sheer strength & brutality. Renzo got a cakewalk against the very unviolent Spijkers, smaller wrestler & the zero-grappling Warring. He was very lucky that Vale & Bitonio eliminated each other.
