  • Good show.back then loved it

  • STINGRAY great show, starring Nick Mancuso.

  • It was brilliant. He was most likely ex-CIA or black-ops but they never fully reveal the character's history.

  • I loved this show, never knew why it got cancelled

  • He was in Under siege 1 and 2.

  • bad intro wonderful show and the car...the car!!!that car is just amazing!

  • My name is ray beware of my sting!

  • great show and cool man

  • LOL...God bless the 80's! If you had a vehicle - Trans Am, motorcycle, helicopter, mazzerotti - you had a TV show!!! LOL

  • Watching this makes me wanna take cocaine

  • @blueluny not me it don't

i hate drugs and drug adicks

  • This man was my first love! So cool that series was!

  • predecessor to the pretender maybe? i really did like this show.

  • I wanted a stingray so bad after seeing this show. lol...

  • @Mangapulse I had a MASK Stingray, Wolfbeast, I always wanted this car so badly :D

  • @phmike69 yeah. So did my older sister.

  • Are you sure is a action drama or sci-fi?

  • The grand "old" '80's! The music, clothing, themes and TV SHOWS! Not like today's TV shows. Stupid things like American Idol, Two and a half men, The Mentalist, etc. What ever happened to real shows like this? Or THE A TEAM, Night Rider, Simon & Simon, The Dukes of Hazzard, The Incredible Hulk, Dynasty, Airwolf, Buck Rogers, Sheriff Lobo, BJ and the Bear, etc.

  • @Timbrock1000 got that right.

  • I watched this way back then and it was a great show...I watched almost every episode!!!

  • It was a great show. Sort of a grown up version of Knight Rider, except the car didn't talk. It didn't need to. It was a STINGRAY!

  • I do not remember this one. I can say this though.. Mike Post was the KING of 80's TV. He was the producer of all those shows

  • Producer? He was a musical composer! A bloody good one, I agree, but had nothing to do with making any of those shows.

  • You are correct about Mike Post being the king of 80's tv. Except that it was for theme songs and soundtracks. Mike was a Music Producer.

  • wow. thanks.

  • my mom loved this show. i thought it was cheesy.

  • this guy mancuso looks like a lame.. i guess this is how people acted in the 80s?

  • Does anyone remember that very short lived cop TV show featuring a red Lamborghini Countach driven by the main cast? What was the title of that show?

  • Automan

  • Nope, wasn't Automan, this show only lasted maybe all of four weeks before it was pulled.

This was a spinoff from the very first season of Miami Vice, the Countach was supposed to be the cops star car like the black "Ferrari Daytona was to Miami Vice.

  • Hardcastle and McCormick

  • No, the Coyote was a modified Manta kit car.

(I wonder if anyone still remembers what I'm talking about)

  • Hmmm... It is vaguely sounding familiar now, I did a google search (which I am sure you did) and no leads! Let me know if you find it!

  • I remember a show where with a red racer but wasn't a lambo. In germany it was called Mccormick and castle. Mccormick the guy who drove the red car and Castle was a pensioned judge.

  • That was a Manta kit car. (an American kit)

  • I have had this theme running in my head (mostly wrong ) for nearly 25 years... glad to see nostalgia still exists... good on ya mate

  • were can I gewt the thememe for my mp3 player. tried limewire. any sug?

  • werent the 80,s the coll deacade ever..LOL

  • mancuso looks like mickey rourkes handsomer brother

  • That title sequence screams "'80s," doesn't it? But the episode "Nemesis" was the first thing I remember seeing directed by Kim Manners, and my favorite episode was the one set in the bio-dome.

  • The first choice for the part was Bruce Willis, but he passed.

  • Glad he did.

  • I don't think this is correct. The part was always intended for Mancuso, a personal friend of Cannell. The series was a reworking of an early premise which Mancuso also starred in a few years before. Dr Scorpion.

  • I used to love this show. DVD!!!!!!

  • Never heard of them Sledgehammer or Stingray but are guarenteed 1980s American weekend TV shows. Most likely never were shown in Portugal those days.

  • @ 35 seconds...

    LASERS.... best EVER

  • Is that a young Sharon Stone at 0.48 putting her finger to her lips?

  • 0:48

  • LOL OMG!!! pissing my pants and blowing coffee on the computer over your quote......This is the best line I've see yet....

  • This was the show this and miami vice on friday nights I WANT THE 80s BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hahhaa!! funny!

  • Inbetween series of Wiseguy, this kept me goin-was`nt the Stingray 70% aluminium or sumthin?

  • This was cool, too bad it never developed to full potential.

  • Mike Post always came up with some great theme music.

  • I never was a huge fan of Mike Posts themes they always seemed kind of blah to me except for a few like A-team and maybe Rockford

  • I love Mike Post. Cant stop listening his scores :-)

  • I remember the show, liked it, it didn't last long. Aired on NBC I beleive.

  • Awesome bird-stick driving the car at 0:33. How'd they do that?

  • The Corvette had more acting chops than Nick Mancuso. G'night.

  • Shows you've never seen Mancuso act.

    G'night.

  • good show what happened , how about string ray 2

  • Wohooo =)

  • Great show.

  • best TV show besides MacGyver!

  • I want this as my ringtone.

  • so cool. loved it when i was a kid.

    5/5 especially for the song.

  • Awesome. Classic show. Underrated.

  • Yeah, "Stingray" & "The Equalizer" were two of the gr8 yet criminally underrated American prime time series of the era, IMHO.

  • Yeah, there were dozens more. The 80's rules.

  • Especially w/American TV series in the '80s, IMO.

  • Definitely. The 80's was essentially the golden age of TV.

  • In the US u r essentially correct; in other English-speaking countries it was up&down the spectrum, IMO. I'm not disageeing w/u; I'm just trying to approach the discussion fr. more of a global perspective angle.

  • I understand. In the US, it was definitely an epic ride.

  • Yeah, I'm originally from the UK & SA, so I also saw a lot of their TV series back in the '70s & '80s.

  • A Cannell classic which rates as high as The A-Team

  • THATS TOUGH!!!

  • The show is out on dvd. Quick hint, Order from Amazon canada as it works out a fair bit cheaper. The reason this show didnt make it is because Nick couldnt handle a weekly show. It got good ratings, had great storylines and exceptional acting. All the episodes are of a high quality. At least it never got a chance to decline =]

  • A good show too.

  • Stingray was the thinking man's Nightrider.

  • ha I like that

  • @zappr5 Agreed sir no doubt.

  • When the 80s ended, so did the fun in life... DAMN everything was so much cooler back then! Thanks for posting this, I loved these shows! Post and Carpenter were the GODS of tv themes.

  • As was Sylvester Levay, for the theme song to the best U.S. 80's series "Airwolf". Post and Carpenter were excellent as well, with "Stingray" being their best theme, and the 2nd best U.S. 80's series for me.

  • ...absolutely true. 10/10 for that post!

3rd best series in my eyes was Hunter!

  • I loved this show and the intro. Never understood why it didn't make it. The premise, scripts and acting was good and the car and theme song were cool as could be. I have been trying to hear that theme song again for a long time as it was my favorite. If it comes out on DVD I will be getting!

  • A lot of these series popped up in the 80's. This was a good show.

  • One Of The Illest Forgotten Theme Songs From A Show That Was Pretty Wicked For The Time It Was On. Man, Remember Them Days On Friday Night NBC When All The Good Shiznit Like This Was On. Oh The Memories And To Be A Kid Again....80's Baby Forever Over Here..:)

  • long time ago

  • When TV copies MTV and did a pretty good job of it during the 1980's. The theme music was pretty good and was a way get ready to hit the dance clubs and just be cool.

  • Better from average show from that era. Good concept. Great theme by Mike Post and Pete Carpenter too.

  • This show reminds me so much of junior high, gotta love those 80's shows!!

  • i always loved this intro

  • stingray is due out on dvd in december of 2007

  • This is so great, I've been looking for this for awhile.
