I remember busting my ass on that big Cement slap over the other side of your fence where that apartment burnt down. good times hopefully i can visit you guys some time again.
I'm germinating some seeds right now. I live in arizona so it looks like the dry sand is covered. And thanks the the massive pollution that gives us beautiful sunsets I think my trees will grow really great. Plus no need to worry about winter since we skipped it this past year.
That's a great video. Thanks! I'm seriously considering buying a couple for the backyard. Think you could post another video of their progress since last year? Everything I've read says that they don't flower until at least their third full year. Sounds like you may get some this year.
One of mine planted last year (about 12 feet tall now) is leaning or moreso, growing toward the sun. Should I stake it to straighten, or cut it down in fall? I planted it just over a year ago.
I have no experience selling them for lumber, just relayed what I heard. And it's 20 feet high not 20" circumference. They haven't started blooming yet. If it does not bloom flowers I just may chop them at 6' yearly just so they can branch out with the big leaves giving me a privacy fence.
I've been doing a bit of research on paulownia trees.... you mentioned that a single tree can sell for $8k. Is that price from personal experience? If not, would you mind letting me know where you learned of that price for these trees? I read on a sawmill forum where someone mentioned they can go $1k for a "log" (not sure how big) and that message was from around 3 or 4 years ago.
Im doing serious scientific research into paulownia trees. A 7 year old tree can produce etween 80 and 122 board feet. Each oard foot can sell between $1-$5 depending on quality.
so an average of 100 oard feet and $2 per oard foot gives you $200 per tree.
They haven't started blooming yet but it's amazing how tall and thick the roots and trunk is getting in 2 years the ones I didn't cut down. There all aprox the same size 20'
I hope they get flowers soon if not they'll be a good fence to cover ugly neighbors house
For a tall straight tree cut flush with ground early spring. Cut slower of the multiple shoots that come out.tree will grow tall and straight quick but will Or cut tree where you want your branches to come out. It's a great tree in that u can't mess up. Good luck

I'm starring to see the branches develop. Their just about serving their purpose being tall enough to fence the neighbors out of view

Can you please post a video of what they look like now? Thanks. Great info, and your trees look great in the vid.

Yeah it's a tree you can experiment with and not worry. U mess up? Cut it down, it'll grow back in a season or 2
