I watched this 6 part series and I am amazed at how well Matt gets the truth out and his points across. Great pick for a running mate Ralph! You guys have my vote, but no matter what happens in '08 I hope to see and hear more of Matt Gonzalez.

Certainly the meaning of the word "patriot" is starting to change into something more akin to "let your government do whatever it wants to you", when the action that best demonstrates love for ones country seems to me to be making sure that ones government doesn't take advantage of the people it is meant to represent.

I was thinking the other day that when referring to the USAPATRIOT Act as the "Patriot act", you end up helping push the propaganda. Obviously, the acronym was formed so that the name itself is a form of propaganda, but hopefully speaking of it as the "U-S-A-P-A-T-R-I-O-T Act" doesn't communicate that propaganda.

Anyway, I was thinking about that when I noticed that you can't spell "patriot" without "riot" and found it curious that I had never seen that as a slogan for anti-establishment.

That is an interesting slogan idea & I haven't seen it BUT, as ready as I am advocate significant physical actions such as using your body to stop the function of a corrupt body I don't know if the word riot is something that should be thrown around in the context of a political movement/campaign that seeks elected office. The purpose of government is to keep order after all. Colloquial usage might be ok but I don't think the campaign should use it. You could/should create a patRIOT sticker.

Yes, I absolutely agree. I'm not at all suggesting that the slogan would be tied to Nader/Gonzalez nor even that I would sport such a slogan on my own gas-guzzling, patriotic Hummer/SUV next to my "Proud to be an American" bumper sticker. Nah, I don't own a car.

I'm saying that after the corrupt system uses blaming, misinformation and denial of information to isolate those that care about the power of office from the people that care about the people for which that office was created, we revolt.

I'm just suggesting that when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce the people under absolute despotism, it is the peoples right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.
