I'm a low 200 league player and every time I bowl on a PBA pattern (When possible) it is like being in some other galaxy. This just makes my admiration for prosgrow bigger I see them making it to look so easy.
Agreed...the pins in most centres are on average 3lb 6oz to 3lb 10oz,however you'll most likely find that the pba use heavier pins. I myself play around a low 200 average in most leagues, but i'd have no idea what to do on pba lanes.
The PBA does not use heavier pins. They are within the regulations that you mentioned in your comment. However, there is less pin action on PBA patterns than house shots because the outside part of the lane does not give you any bump, thusly resulting in a longer look to the bowling ball and less entry angle.
My friend Sylvain Brisson have an average about 240 in each ligue he's playing for, but the PBA it's another king of bowling... He try the U.S OPEN in Indiannapolis and he got only 161.5 average... The PBA it's another kind of bowl, remember this.
I know these guys look pretty bad on this condition; however, have you ever shot on a condition as tough as this as compared to your typical house shot where 12 year old kids are averaging 200 plus?
I did not mean 12 year old kids were averaging 200 plus on the PBA conditions, but they are quite capable of averaging 200 Plus on your typical house shot.
yea, i know plenty of kids who can average 200+. that has to do with time, dedication, training. they are actually easier to teach then ppl who are older because their minds are young, they listen to wat u say instead of believing that wat they doin is right, especially wen they messin up and they think they doin everything right, and because they arent caught up in thinkin they the best.
completely agree... somethin alot of these new bowlers that are so hooked on high rev rates need to know, it looks good, but it doesnt always get u the win. slow and controlled is the key.
great excuse... a fly just flew right in front of me.... HA

Do you know what the bowlers mean by getting under the ball, getting on the side of the ball, and getting behind the ball in parts 1 and 2?

My point exactly.... Being versatile is the (KEY) for success!!!!! Straighter is better in these type of lane conditions.
