Her songs if you listen well, with good ear or hearing from professional and calm angel, so similar like Micheal Jackson's. Always use sudden change and that note, without smooth up and down, too much turns also can make people believe they are very high. :)

I guess her high note or tune based on her real voice, is not very real, because she only used this level, and why, changed so quick and not in same base at all. Do not know how can she did it? It not sounds smooth at all by the sudden change. :) Still love Vitas, he is real guru. :) And did not cheat, Li Na is good too in China. :)

I think she only did it when she was younger and feeling singing.

Afterwards she just thinks she is famous enough, and maybe old.

So she stopped trying to hard.

Keep whistling may damage her voice too

Mariah is listed as 22 of the greatest singers so idk why people say she can't sing. Listen to her early stuff when she was singing live. She can't blow like she use to but thats because she is getting older, that comes with age, but mariah could blow !!!

@Forever1Charmed, of course she lips often now! She is older, she has to take care of her voice. She can't be singing back to bac everyday like if she was still 20. She has to lip in order to be rested when she sings live. :)

Besides, just because you can scream like a banshee doesn't mean you're superior to any other artist. Take Madonna for example, her vocals aren't exactly "A Star", but she's the biggest selling female artist of all time, with a fan base that puts most artists to shame. It's about being a quality performer, not some wannabe diva that tries to copy Whitney Houston...

@OdetteValmont: If you don't like her whistles, that's fine, but she does that for may 5-10 seconds (at most) on any song. You can say you don't like her music, or pop music, but NO ONE can genuinely listen to her debut album "Mariah Carey," (for example) and say she "cannot sing." That's insane.

@foxesamu It's not lipped. If you really compared it to the studio version, you can notice that it is not lipped. And yes, she has done it live. You may want to check out the Alan Carr show version. ;-)

@W46boy A song can be different from the studio version, but it still can be lipped. Have you heard about pre-recorded songs? Early Mariah did sing live, but the older she got then ofttener she used pre-record. Nowadays, almost all her performances are lipped
