I don't think that the higher brain activity when asking an atheist to think about god is about them thinking about something they aren't comfortable with. I think it's them actually thinking. The problem is that you will not know if you are absolutely right about there being no God until it is too late to change your mind. If you are right and there is no God, I will die and go into nothingness, in which case I have lost....nothing. If you die and you are wrong about the existence of God, you will face an eternity separated from him in eternal punishment, in which case you have lost everything.......forever. The choice and risk is yours to deal with.

Conviction being one of the truest signs of repentance cause you to believe more and more in what God teaches us in the Bible. I don't think that the higher brain activity when asking an atheist to think about god is about them thinking about something they aren't comfortable with. I think it's them actually thinking. But when I hear that "talking in tongues" crap, the hair on the back of my neck stands up, and all I can think is...EVIL!!!

Praying in tongues (in the manner demonstrated), is not for the ears of humans -- it is for communicating with God.

The problem is that you will not know if you are absolutely right about there being no God until it is too late to change your mind. If you are right and there is no God, I will die and go into nothingness, in which case I have lost....nothing. If you die and you are wrong about the existence of God, you will face an eternity separated from him in eternal punishment, in which case you have lost everything.......forever. The choice and risk is yours to deal with.

The truth isn't reliant upon perception. Light is light and darkness is the absence of light regardless of your perception of it. Healthy regular grass is green. You can be taught from birth that it is blue and perceive it as blue and believe it with all your heart, but it doesn't change the fact that it is really green. Christians, not people who "play church," but actual Christians are not mindless idiots. I am a practicing Christian. I'm educated. I'm no idiot. I know what I believe and why.

WHY is so easy for the interviewer to believe that other people who have had near death experiences saw "god" and so difficult for him to believe Downey's totally rational explanation that such an experience is a biological reaction of the brain? It seems to me that the version that's hard to swallow is the one about seeing spirits in lighted tunnels and flying over nurse's heads. I saw a video of an atheist who believed in ghost once. I think that most "turn-away-christian" atheist should just call them Humanist because Humanism is from what i understand is the rejection of Metaphysics.

You can explain the world through science, reason, religion, spirituality, mathematics or any other way you like. Atheists and theists all have metaphysical beliefs and it doesn't necessarily have to be supernatural.

That atheist lady is crazy. We do not com from nothingness.. if we did then we would be nothing. I think she is on the right path but to say "nothing" we do go back to the place we came from.. but its not nothingness.. Its a light, warm but very dark. Its so dark that its bright and to see this light with human eyes would burn our retinas. Both atheist and Christians have the right concept but still have a long way to go in order to understand it.
