  • WOOOOW! :D its beautiful perfect wooooow :""")))))

  • @ripdanny18 again...i respect the fact that you put it nicely, but no exceptions will be made...i don't want arguments, i don't want this discussions...ALL these comments will be deleted because they don't have a point...

  • The song is "Eso Beso." Not sure who is singing this version. Song was recorded by Paul Anka in the '50s or '60s, but that version is faster. This one is the strict 50 beats per minute of the dancesport samba.

  • WHAT is the name of the song please thank you

  • saw this video couple of years ago. but still love it a lottttt. I can watch this all the time. so beautiful <3

  • I love the song (the dancing is fantastic as always)! Does anyone know the name of it?

  • Fit the tempo, but still keep that effect of making you feel as though you want to dance (I've been calling it the "samba effect").... Buy putting that all aside Slavik and Karina are both great BALLROOM samba dancers, unfortunately Karina's rep went way down with me when she started doing dancing with the stars :-/

  • I have been told the reason that we say ballroom samba is like bazilian samba is not necessarily because of the look of the dance, but more with the music. After listening to both a true Brazilian samba song and americanized samba beat, both had the same effect on me where... Well, where the music "moved" me, and I began to dance to both. I think we took samba music, slowed the tempo down, and maybe took some of the drum beats away, but getting past that I think we created a dance that would fi

  • (O.O) Wow!! It says Basic in the description.. This does not look basic to me.. My girlfriend really wants to do it, but i gotta feeling i won't be able to keep up.. Oh Well gonna try it anyways, for her sake!!

  • as i said before...all comments sayng stuff like "this is not samba" will be deleted eventually...go comment on other videos and don't disrespect , you fucking retards

  • @monicaalvirrubra This is Samba. It's a ballroom Samba not a brazilian Samba.

  • Why can't people understand that this is BALLROOM SAMBA?! is not brazilian samba, it has nothing to do with Brasil, this kind of samba is part of a group of rythms that are danced in competitions all around the world, so stop comparing the brazilian samba with the ballroom samba!!

  • Give up of trying to convence "gringos' it's a samba. Let them on Lollypop land where they think they're dancing samba and its a true samba's muisc made by Cartola, Martinho da Vila, Noel Rosa, Ismael, Jorge Aragão, Tom Jobim and many others.

  • that skirt is amazing! where do they get these clothes??

  • @le0liveira Hi, there are different kind of Samba. Brazillian Samba will be different as well. Please watch some international dancing competition and you will see that this way of dancing is a kind of samba. Samba doesn't have to do with Brazillian Samba. They are just different kind.

  • @monicaalvirrubra sorry to say this, but if you know more about dancing, you will know that this is samba. Please watch more international competition to understand more about latin and standard dance before commenting. I personally love samba, so that's why I say it. Please comment if anyone don't agree with me. Thank you :)

  • Hey! I'm asking again. Do somebody knows tittle this song? and who was composed this?

  • i demonstrated basics from international samba at a brazilian pro samba team practice - they loved it.

never heard of "man cannot have feminine hip movements"

    123 ppl don't know dance.

  • @17teacmrocks I agree with you. Hip movements emphasize the syncopation of samba. The technique used in international ballroom and other dance genres is called shadow figure: both female and male dancers imitate each other. Some may call it mirror technique if it is done face to face. Brazilians refer to either folkloric samba or street samba in their comments. International samba does have steps from its roots. People don't recognize them because they don't know about technique.

  • @u2bMODERATOR He does that in all of his dances, regardless of the style. I think it's his signature style, not his lack of dance knowledge.

  • @rbsadler Understand, but skills must be attached by discipline . It is still offensive that nor music nor the dance are not in any sense a pallid memory what is Samba. I guess the parrots in the film Rio can do better . I´m not a specialist and also not a samba enthusiastic, but i´m speechless about the mistake it is. And as i can see in many comments below , i´m not the only one .

  • @u2bMODERATOR Things change. I mean, at first I was upset that those clogging teams on TV were calling themselves cloggers, but to them, they're being genuine. They don't have the cultural connection, and you can't blame them for that. In a world where globalization is happening at a rapid pace, nothing is going to stay pure. You just do the best you can to preserve what you can without impeding progress. Clogging and flat footing wouldn't exist without changing Irish step.

  • @rbsadler Well , i use globalization to point the opposite . When Brazil was Just a tropical country , and hollywood used to think that Amazônia and Rio Were near, and Buenos Ayres were our capital , it was excusable to dance some Tarzan dance. But now with the globalization and the knowledge that Brazil is going to be the 5 economy in the world , I ask: Would the French like if Ballet was shown as hip hop? I Reapeat: dacing well and dancing correctly is diferent. PS: I hate Samba! :P

  • @rbsadler And Look. The problem is that , it is not that they are doing the best to dance samba. It seems that they did the best to dance all but samba. because nor the song neither the dance remembers samba . I hate samba , I repeat , but if I may say one thing : This is not Samba . Peoples should be angry to go to a show where they lie to audience .

  • even though i have read so many bad comment about this video, i still applauses the dancers for their performance... they are so fortunate to have a flexible body like that...good job guy!...

  • @maecellify If you as pizza and receive a good apple pie, you will still think the cooker is good . But pizza is still a pizza and apple pie is still apple pie .

  • @u2bMODERATOR hehe... i understand what you are saying you have a point.. but..hahah! your reply makes me laugh..and hungry... tnx for your opinion.. ^^

  • @maecellify heheh peoples think im trying to be Patriotic or Brazilian culture protector . But it is not . I´m Just trying to explain that some dancers and singers use the lack of knowledge of peoples in some issue to make them swallow their performance. As peoples use to call champagne the Sparkling drink made in another region or country, but Champagne is just the drink made in Champagne in France.:P Blessings!

  • @u2bMODERATOR .. ^^.. good for you.. your not fake and you are not afraid to say what you want to say.. you're right...dancing has it's standard that not many people know.. i can't deny that i don't know it either..i'm easily amazed by how easily they make it look...that's just me i guess :)))))

  • @u2bMODERATOR ...good for you...i'm not saying you are.. i even respect your replies.. i guess i'm just easily amazed by how they made it look so easy... maybe i'm one of those people who doesn't completely understand the standard of this dances but the way it looks good in my eyes... :)))))).. tnx again..good day to you..

  • @maecellify No , you are right , they dance very well. I saw in your channel a couple dancing and i must say that couple are nearer of samba than this couple above. Imagine you if a person takes a Japanese song put some Japanese dance moviments and say: This is the Tinikling dance from Philippines.

  • @u2bMODERATOR haha! you have a point.. that would be wrong...

  • @u2bMODERATOR hehe... i understand what you are saying you have a point.. still... your reply makes me laugh..and hungry... it's educational and yet comedic..hehe..

    tnx for your opinion.. ^^

  • @maecellify Agree. they are absolutely great. They have good techniques for dance sport dancers. I'm falling in love with their dance. And I know that what they dance is samba for sure. I hope people do try to understand more about dancing before they comment what is samba and what is not. I do watch a lot of dancing competition and I'm personally a dancer who did join competitions. I appreciate this dance, and a bit sad when the others don't.

  • Slavik can learn Brazilian samba in 10 minutes.

Give a guy 10 years and he still won't be able to dance this samba like Slavik.

Stop trolling and appreciate the great dancing.

  • here free education for you!!!! then might be able to anderstan this is latin international dance and there is nothing to do with the think you dance! which is great btw but completely different dance and think....

  • Comment removed

  • what's the title of the song???

  • Comment removed

  • @WaRpLeXx Eso Beso.

  • These two are better dancers than any one commenting could ever hope or dream of dancing like. Every one says Brazilian Samba is "way better", so I looked up some of these videos to see how "amazing " it is and please! The women have zero back action or hip rotation the guys are stiff as boards and they just do a bunch of tricks, leg flicks and bounce a lot . His movement is true rhythmical hers as well. I wouldn't say he has "feminine" hips though just because he can move them!

  • euro ballroom is mysterious to me. dancing with the stars jibberish where they do "latin" euroballroom dances to soft rock or pop is *very* mysterious to me. that said - this clip is all right. some of this stuff can be used in other dances like salsa , zouk lambada, bachata or whatever.

  • @ginsushark Dancing With The Stars, all over the world uses weird music. I think the TV producers feel that if they can use popular or recognisable music, the show will appeal to a wider audience.

  • quem quer aprender a sambar tem que vir pro rio em março.

    ps carnaval atraso esse ano

  • I have a question. What is tittle that song ? And who is composer of that ?

  • Meu pau de óculos que isso é samba.

  • THIS IS NOT SAMBA MATE... SORRY, COME TO BRAZIL AND LEARN SOMETHING GOOD

  • this music is not samba; and the guy is ridiculous, nobody here dance like him...

  • @ngattuso08 Because it's not Brazillian Samba.

  • @seravi ok let's see they ruin other people culture then...the dance is bad and the music is not samba it's axé.

  • @ngattuso08 It's not their fault that the British named this dance Samba 70 years ago. Also, by adopting it there, this particular dance stopped being Brazilian culture. Ballroom dance would acknowledge that the origin of the dance come from Brazil; but only ignorant people would confuse this with your dance.

Regarding the dance being bad - well sure, it is bad if you are judging for being a Brazillian dance. But it is not.

  • @seravi samba is a brazilian dance, and it came a long time before this fake samba!

  • @anonymous10001000 English was the language of England. That did not stop people from your country from butchering it, didn't it? Dances evolve. That's life. Two centuries ago, Samba did not even existed. So chill.

  • @seravi we didnt butcher it, if it wasnt for the english we wouldnt even speak english here.....we descend from the english, there is a difference......and this is definately not an "evolution" of dance...........a certain dance doesnt go from one thing to another in a heartbeat!!

  • @anonymous10001000 I don't know about a certain dance, but even Ballroom Samba went through a lot of changes in the last 50 years of constant development.

  • @seravi yea well samba doesnt go from what it was in brasil, to that........

  • @anonymous10001000 *saids a person who does not know about dance history...

  • @seravi I DONT KNOW DANCE HISTORY????? HAHAHAHAHA XD THATS GOT TO B A JOKE

  • @anonymous10001000 I'm not joking. I'm calling you ignorant - just in case you missed that.

  • @seravi tht was sarcasm.......just in case u missed tht..........

  • @anonymous10001000 So you're not actually stupid?

  • @seravi no, but u just made urself look stupid, trying to b smart...........hang the attitude kid, its not cute........

  • @anonymous10001000 I wasn't trying to be smart. I was only trying to assess your stupidity. At the very least, I spell better than you. (^_^)

  • @seravi no, u were trying to b smart, and u still r......u think it looks cool, but in reality it makes u look like a punk

  • @anonymous10001000 I see. Thanks for confirming that you indeed stupid. You always make my day when I come home, check on Youtube and see that this anonymous10001000 user has yet made another reply to my obvious attempt at trolling. But then, it's not like you can do anything or be of any use to the society. So it's a good thing that you are stupid but harmless.

  • @seravi u are so funny, thats all u got to say??? thats all u got??? noone thinks ur funny, noone thinks ur slick.....so just drop that little attitude u got and go play with ur legos kid because u just look like a DUMB ASS, and trust me, ive had enough experience with stupid people to know what a DUMB ASS is, and u are a fine example.......

  • @anonymous10001000 I do not know if I am funny but I am having fun. Lego is fun, too. If I have a Lego set right now, I would definitely play with it. And for some reason, despite all the experience you claimed to have had, you are still stupid enough to reply to my obviously trolling. I do not know why you are still here ^_^? If I am a dumb ass yet you still reply to my trolling, the only logical conclusion is that you are beyond help. I sympathize with you, man, but that's just logic.

  • @seravi review that last message u posted, u made absolutely made no sense in any way, form or shape......and its not because im so called "stupid" as u claim i am........it's because u don't know how to make logic out of what u say........ur right, idk why im arguing with an arrogant child who doesnt know when hes made a fool out of himself, good day......

  • @anonymous10001000 It's a good thing that you have realized that ^_^. Now your no longer as stupid as you were before. Congratulation. Cheers.

  • @anonymous10001000

    Lol. I wouldn't call half a century a heartbeat.

You still don't understand the difference between social dancing and competitive dancing. I know, you don't even understand what the term "social dancing" means. No, a dance style isn't a social dance even if you interact with the audience. It becomes a social dance when you go to clubs etc. and do it just for fun. Social dances evolve very slow. Competitive dances on the other hand evolve hell of a lot faster.

  • @AceyBlade no DANCING IS SOCIAL, you can never take the social aspect of dancing out of it, period......dancing is a SOCIAL concept.......

and half a century is a very short time to completely change a musical genre into something completely different..........if it had derived from BraSilian samba, then it would be a lot more obvious.....that is what im trying to say....there would be so much more reference to the original..........im saying that this could not have come from brasilian samba!

  • @anonymous10001000

You're clearly not quite educated on how dance styles are categorised these days. Oh, well.

Also, it has been repeated time and time again that ballroom dancing emphasises on the tehcnique and we don't necessarily use authentic or original music. It's enough for us to have the correct tempo. You're unable to seperate the music itself from the dancing. And then you call yourself a great analyst...

  • @AceyBlade a tempo may be one part of a musical genre, but it does not make the genre....... a tempo is a tempo, a music genre is a music genre, big difference...............what makes a musical genre is certain key elements that MUST be present......if it doesnt have those qualities, then it doesnt qualify for the "intended" genre

  • @anonymous10001000

Oh, jesus christ. Tempo is a segment of music. You completely missed the whole point where I was saying we don't need to use the original latin music. It's enough if the piece of music has the correct tempo. That is why you see such horrible music used in the DWTS because the songs are popular and are used by the producers to attract more viewers.

If you can't seperate the music from dancing, then your analytical abilities fail at a very elementary level.

  • @AceyBlade you JUST proved my point..............you are saying exactly what i just disproved, a tempo does NOT equal a style of music.....and it is not enough if the piece has the correct tempo.........

and how can you not correlate music to dancing??????? do you not agree that you dance hip hop to hip hop music?? salsa to salsa music?? SAMBA to SAMBA MUSIC?? rumba to rumba music?? need i go any further??

  • @anonymous10001000

You can't read plain English can you. I didn't say tempo was a style of music! I said it is part of the music. Learn the meaning of the word "segment".

Yes, there's correlation between dance and music. That is obvious. But if you can't seperate them from each other you don't know how to analyse, because that's what analysing is. Breaking things down and examining their relation to each other.

  • @AceyBlade hold on.......

didnt YOU say that a tempo was enough???

hey i cant help but be right if you are always contradicting yourself

yes dancing, and music are 2 different entities.............

BUT they function together, so yes we could sit hear and discuss how they are separate but it would would be pointless..............the whole purpose of dance was to go to music..........that is WHY people dance, it would be a very bland show if you danced but with no music so you can have funwiththat

  • @anonymous10001000

Hopefully I elaborated further on the tempo part in my last comment.

I was merely demonstrating your claims of analytical ability to be false, because in your mind you can't break down subjects like dancing into smaller pieces.

The whole argument you have boils down to international dancers not using music that is authentic to the roots of the dance.

    /watch?v=TkFwbo_0fUc

The start of that show is completely without music. I'd hardly call that bland to watch.

  • @AceyBlade this is why i dont like youtube arguments, they always diverge from the subject.....

and indeed, it is very dull............

anyway, MY POINT FROM THE START is that samba music will always be samba music............point blank, samba is STRICTLY a brazilian music AND dance.............all other so called sambas do not qualify..............

im not saying these people are bad dancers, they are very talented, but they dont dance samba........

  • @anonymous10001000

What you fail to understand and perhaps I fail to convey in this limited space of writing is that the basis of ballroom dancing is based on strict tempo. Basicly we can practise to a metronome if we choose to. But that is not ideal because music is more than just the tempo. Since our emphasis is not that strong on the music we can dance even to pop songs as long as the tempo is correct. Preferably the beat emphasis would be on 2s and syncopation on the 1/4th of first beat.

  • @ngattuso08 xaxaxaxa this is not brazilian samba this is something completely different so think and search before you post something in pablic. this is maybe the best dancers in latin-international that we see the last 10 years... get serious!!!!!

  • wat do u dance people think abt building up muscle and playing boxing ???

  • @cadet58085 Personally, I don't think it would work for us, as we need to look delicate and gay - I mean the guys; the gilrs look very feminine and hot!

  • @ukkohalonen GAY ???

  • @cadet58085 yeap. Or what do you think? don't tell me you think all ball room male dancers are true machos, do you?

  • This is not Samba!

  • @dobrydmais

You're making very little sense. Oh, well. Not that I care.

  • @u2bMODERATOR

"In Samba the man cannot have feminine hips movements. "

Come back when you have rudamentary understanding of the movement mechanics presented in this video. I'm not holding my breath. I can also name you at least five or six steps that we still do even in very modern coreography that also exist in Samba de Gafiera. Not that you would notice the resemblence because you're absolutely blind when it comes to dancing.

  • Nossa..eles são demais..só acho q deveriam usar musicas brasileiras pra dançar o samba..iria ficar beeem melhor! Iria dar muita diferente..e tem várias musicas maravilhosas pra isso!

  • I love Karina. Together with Slavik they are five times US National Professional Ballroom Champions. For me she is the best female dancer on the American DWTS.

  • im hot for karina but hell, this guy is soooo good i find myself watching him instead

  • yep those are pros moves, im also dancing ballroom but im like in diapers compare to them heheh, still im very good at it even though i dont have a lot of time doing it, and i will be better, yay!!!

  • I think it looks so great when people dance samba.

I uploaded a samba song as well from a yopung brazillian artist but do not know how to dance samba. I would love to know. Check out "Canta Bahia" by "Paloma Gomes"!

  • I need a routine from you guys, what do you charge contact me.. thanks,

  • @XtremeDance10 Slavik coaches out of New York charges a lot I've heard. Karina coaches out of California sometimes NY. Not sure what she charges. He's doing more coaches though than she is. If he's at comps doing shows you can always get coaching then from him, it depends on the organizer. But at Millenium in FL he had coachings booked all day!

  • sou brasileira e com certeza absoluta isso não é SAMBA !!!

  • @belzinhamalavasi: Isso é samba de salão, ninguém diz que este é o samba brasileiro. Há mais do que uma maneira de dançar o samba.

  • I like entrance in shadow position roles :) whole choreography is not hard, but nice looking and with good composition :) Thx for share :)

  • auhuhauhuaha....só lamento!!!

  • Really nice samba! :D It looks extremly professionel! Respect man!

  • @00768245 I dont know if you've lived under a rock, but Slavik and Karina are world famous dancers.

  • ballroom samba....hum. I had never heard about this kind of samba.

but I really think 'samba de gafireira' is too much more beautiful.

  • Who sings this version of esso besso?

  • Yes does anyone know who sings this version? And I can't believe the argument about samba is still going on - give the non-Brazilians some rest!

  • wooh..thats amazng dance!

  • Hi,

I think latin ballroom is really an interesting and beautiful dance.... but, I was trying to figure out the link to the original samba... I mean, why do they call this samba, since they are playing a kind of hispanic american pop music.... I don't know, cause samba is much more influenced by african moves, that I can't see in this dance.

    Not complaining, just being curious....

But please, brazilian samba is not just a "carnival music"...

  • @alexsampaio search for 'samba de gafieira'.

is brazilian samba, and it is not "canival music".

    (:

  • os gringo acha que sabe ensinah samba

  • Does anyone know who sings this version of "Eso Beso"? I like it.

  • mmm i would like to see slavik with yulia zagoruychenko!! i think it would be the best the strongest couple!!!! dont like melnikova much!!!

  • This is a wonderful samba! I would love to be their students. . . .just wonderful, charismatic and sexy, what more can I say! I used to dance samba when I was a little girl and this is just beautiful! Love watching them and they have chosen a great song!

  • yes my dear, it's samba !.

samba walks, promanade runs, volta, samba rolls ( no idea whats the english name is )

i think you have no plan from the latin dances

  • And what is it? Czech Polka? Hmm? First join the Dance Sport Confederation and then teach others which dance is which....Samba has been included for more then 50 years in THIS CONCEPT, AS THESE TWO DANCE and I think that your lone opinion about samba is very weak against all dancers from all around the world

  • Brazillian samba and International Latin Samba are two different styles of dance. It's like comparing American English to Australian English, completely different.

  • As Quad said above, Brazilian Samba and competition Samba are two entirely different dances. I have spent a good deal of time in Rio, and was there for 2 months over Carnaval. I even went with friends to an escola de Samba for rehearsals. I have danced both and they are nowhere near alike, other than that they have that magnificent Brazilian/Latin Beat. Don't be offended--just enjoy them both. But, whatever you decide, they are both the Samba--one Brazilian; one Latin ballroom.

  • I really love this vid. even if they are open figures or basic, I still can do this....in my dreams. hehehe

  • Then don't watch them and stay off their videos!

  • I think I was correct their mostly syllabus steps and as the video title says some of them we're innovated lol for an open figue (like that separated corta jaca)

  • O que tem isso de samba?

  • i love slavik and karina..

  • Samba or no Samba, the dancing is absolutley beautiful!

  • basic? these are silver and gold level figures!

  • even if they are gold figures they're still syllabus figures.

  • almost all are basics...there are a few OPEN figures ...

  • Basic steps? These dancers are pros! The moves they execute require a lot of training. After years of practicing you will end up dancing like them or even better!

  • There are a lot of basic steps : crosado lock, voltas, samba rock, run, natural roll...

  • Did somebody know what's the name of the song? Tks

  • Eso Beso by Georgie Fame

  • Eso Beso by Paul Anka

  • eu conheço ballroom samba...só acho que usam as musicas erradas p/ dançar. deveriam procurar sambas brasileiros mesmo. eu adoro as 2 modalidades de Samba =)

  • wow ... finally a brazilian who understands what we're trying to say ... :) ... good job for this comment

  • @LiviaBaldoino Não se chama axé o estilo de música para o samba das danças de salão?

  • This is Samba, not brazillean carnival Samba, but Ballroom Samba.

  • that lady body is so sexy... man, that lady can move.

  • lol, nothing basic about what they just did~

  • ofc there is - crosado lock .... :D:D:D

  • they make it look soooooo easy. if i could be 1/10 that good i'd be happy

  • The origin of samba is from an Afro-American couples dance.

  • where Krykryvyy name??

  • You mean where he came from? Ukraina.

  • yea, he is Ukrainian!)
